I think he was talking about the EPA.
Yup, Rick. They’re definitely targeting North Dakota first! LOL
Although he could be right, the MSM will make him look goofy for statements like this. Of course, he could just say “hi” to someone and they’ll try to make him look goofy.
I wouldn’t have made that statement on the campaign trail for all sorts of reasons (it’s easy to ridicule, it might give the enemy ideas etc.).
But having said that he may well be right. If I were the terrorists instead of trying to hit the expected targets I’d try to go after someplace rural and unexpected. The goal of terrorism is to terrorize (duh!).
You hit a place like that and no one will feel like they’re safe.
I read it and can find nothing wrong with his statement.
You folks have to realize Obama sounds like an idiot 10 times a day, the media doesnt focus on it and republicans are not good enough at it either.
I assume this is a left wing site because they seem to say he shouldnt support a pipeline if he thinks it might be targeted by terrorists. They see that as a contradiction. I don’t. I see both points as correct.
I swear that if I worked for a republican candidate and if they would let me do it, I could turn countless Obama speeches and comments into major issues.
Duh. When did National Review turn into the Washington Post? Oh I know. When WFB made his last, greatest mistake and turned his once proud publication over to the chipmunk.
FUNR.
Santorum needs to learn to stay on message.
Islamic Terrorists are interested in body count above all other things. That's why they call it terrorism instead of sabotage.
Friggin' rookie.
One question....what would Newt’s comments be? Santo is a rookie and is dangerous. This is grown up times. Newt is the only one that understands. For goodness sake he teaches at the war college for the military.
Well, looky here, another thread blasting Santorum. Just like the thread about CNN cancelling the debate, I see a lot of the same posters.
Would someone please explain what they think is so goofy about his assertion. Thank you.
That’s not what Santorum said. That was a biased headline by Romney’s boys at National Review and idiots on the coasts who do not actually understand what is going in North Dakota. Energy is the achilles heel of the US.
General Presidente Rick "Head Strong" Santorum seized upon the Clapper intelligence report and ordered all women to evacuate North Dakota which he deemed to be on the front line of terrorism.
Now the MSM is going to paint him as a nut. That’d be like saying in 2000 that someone would try to fly airplanes into the Pentagon, the WH/Capitol, and the WTC. And of course we know that would never happen, either.
24 hours earlier, people would have ruthlessly mocked anybody that said they could be a potential terrorist target.
All fifty states and all U.S. territories are at risk for terrorist attacks, thanks to all of the illegal immigrants that exist, throughout the fifty states and throughout all U.S. territories!
I’m a Newt supporter, however Santorum is absolutely right about this, energy producing states, especially rural states with lower populations and a higher ratio of law enforcement to that population (meaning fewer officers per 1000 citizens for example) means that terrorists, specifically Iranian terrorist cells very likely have such states and energy producing facilities already on their list of possible targets.
To criticize and condemn Santorum for stating what is a real possibility is not only short sighted, it’s stupid as Hell. The argument about “don’t give the enemy ideas” doesn’t wash because you can bet the rent they came up with the idea a long time ago. Iran has been our enemy since 1978 and they’ve had lots of time to scope out potential U.S. targets both here in this hemisphere and throughout the world.
Our choices come down to four candidates at this point, two of which (Mitt-Witt and Ron “Bradley Manning Is A Patriot” Paul, both of which are (or should be) totally unacceptable to ANY thinking conservative.
That leaves Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum as the conservative alternative to Romney or Paul. I could vote for either one of those gentlemen with a clear conscience, and I think the sniping at either of them should cease right now.
It is a lead pipe cinch that the terrorists will attack the North Dakota oil fields, and it remains to be seen if they will be successful.
But they’ll use lawyers.
