It is a mandatory tithing, more of a tax.

When the cult leaders can demand your tax returns to verify that you are coughing up a verified amount, and when you cannot get past the Temple door unless you comply with the mandatory 10% fee, then calling it a tax is not a stretch.

No I would say tax. When you have to “tithe” so that can be saved, it’s an anti-hell tax.

Tax is a good name for it.
If you are required to pay “tithe” for salvation and required to show proof of income, using the word tax doesn’t seem such a big deal.
In fact it could be classified as an anti-hell tax.

What happens if Mormons don't give 10% to the church? Is the church okay with them only giving 1%?
