You should keep in mind that all those negative Romney ads directed at Newt haven’t been viewed by most of the country where primaries haven’t happened yet.

Newt’s problem is that he has a history that many won’t forget. He has high negatives and there are many that won’t consider him.

Santorum naturally benefits because of the two opponents left in the race.

Romney and Newt. Sometimes Ron Paul has placed higher than Newt.

I am aware that Newt’s past is hurting him. Goodness knows enough FReepers can’t put the sitting on the couch thing with Nancy in perspective. What I don’t understand, especially with FReepers, is that we know how messed up the economy is and we know how we need to make significant changes or our country is done, but few are evaluating candidates based on policy positions and if they can beat Obama. Santorum, nice perfect person he is, doesn’t have a chance of beating Obama. Heck, at this point, if Newt doesn’t make it, I would go with Paul. Scary as his foreign policy positions are, at least we have a chance of economic recovery and can fix the foreign policy stuff later. People NEED jobs so they can feed their families. Newt and Paul are the only two with plans that have a chance of fixing our economy.
