Wonderful!! That’s half the battle. Another is getting them motivated to start taking the steps. (I’m struggling with my brother on this point. He gets it but not doing much to prepare.)
I was considering Sam’s Club but am going to check out other restaurant supply locations that you don’t have to pay yearly fees for. Just can’t afford those extra little costs.
Craft stores (here we have Michaels) they sell dozen size boxes of chubby votives. Apparently I am math challenged because i way overbought for daughter’s wedding. Anyways, I found plain unscented candles really cheap @mikes!
Food shopping yesterday I managed 2 rump roasts, 12 beef brats, and some frozen foods like tenders for less tha $25.
We’re good for at least 2 weeks with turkey breasts and ground turkey and beef, chicken breasts and legs and thighs, pork roasts and loin chops, and lots of canned goods.
Today I’m thinking about gatting a small ham for slicing.
Looking back over the past few weeks though the amount we have spent stocking up is astounding! What adds to that and really irritates me is when things get thrown out. Right now I’m eating week old donuts because I refused to throw them out.
I’m going to try some vertical gardening, will keep you up to date on my steps, progress, and success/failures.
Nuke those doughnuts! They freshen up nicely!
Bill Scranton was one of the Hillman type GOP who backstabbed my dad when he was in politics. Scranton was supposed to campaign for dad but when he found out dad was a conservative -think Goldwater - he found “scheduling conflicts” and did things to undercut my dad.
Right after that is when this part of town went completely democrat.
Yup...they turned out pretty good! The aroma woke mrs p6 up, LOL!
We’re going to do a couple of topsy turvy things this year. Bought them last year but didn’t get them up. Other people here did put some up and they did very well!
Ooopsie...hit post too soon. Sometimes vendors bring goodies to my bosses for meetings. They are health nuts and don’t do white sugar/flour/etc...so they bring pastries w/them...and my boss is convinced that the goodies will be “stale” by the time we leave work (we divide them up). I can’t imagine what they must throw away at home.
LOL! Gotta love votives... I still have a bunch to use for decorative purposes but have to be more careful nowadays. What I have is similar to these, in white and are in solid glass containers.

WoooHooo!!! A two pager Quinn and Rose thread!!!
Applause all around!!!
If I can find one cheap, I might try one. Friends say they need to be watered daily and I’m kind of bad on that point. LOL
In fact, all the info you guys gave me last year on self-watering containers - I’m looking into that seriously this year.
Oui, oui mon cher! I was in a hurry, the net was too low and the sun was in my eyes, Lol!
Listened to Dr John, Professor Longhair, Clifton Chenier, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and others all night long. IKO,IKO! Big Chief, 2nd Line and more!
I have had a couple of the 7day votive....they can get smokey when they get towards the bottom (chimney effect of the glass jar?). Like that those come in colors...even in the Apocolpyse i want pretty colors :)
Morning RWI! Black and gold beads!?! Yinzer Mardi Gras!!!
Would you expect anything else around here? ;-)
Morning, and happy Fat Tuesday!
LOL!
Time to go into Work Mode. Have a great day, everyone! Do something prep-wise, no matter how small it may seem!!
