If it’s the economy stupid, Obama could very well win re-election. This election will be about freedom, not dollars and cents. If you want economy tune into non-stop mortage and investment talk on your local AM during weekends and leave the rest of us patriots alone.

You might be hearing a lot about religion right now, but it isn’t going to be Santorum’s campaign day in and day out during the general election.

Who is it that reports on Santorum's campaign?

Where are debate moderators from?

What is pretty much every single question during Santorum/Obama debates going to be about?

Oh, that's bad.

Perhaps not politically prudent, but look at what the governing boards of the protestant churches are mandating these days and any christian who bases their beliefs on scripture would have to agree. For example, Methodist churches around here have little gay flags on their church signs.

I'll never fault a candidate for telling the truth.

If he loses the atheist vote, we’re toast?

Santorum was right!... He made the speech in 2008 and then Obama was elected!

How about the atheist vote plus the mainline Protestant vote?

Exactly how much of the electorate is evangelicals + those Catholics that will vote for Santorum (which is very much not all of them)?

Some people on this thread don’t seem to have any clue what “Mainline Protestantism” is or what it’s become. These are the social-justice churches that self-identify as activist left-wing institutions. Whatever voters they have among their 20 million members are already comitted leftists. They might as well be Unitarian Universalists.

what the hell are you on?

Look I have never said I am afraid of Santorum , you then harp on about sharia law.

You seem to like to jump to conclusions instead of thinking, try it next time and you’ll understand what is being said.

shakes head in disbelief

I agree we republicans excel at eating our own, but I make an exception in Romney's case. I don't see any advantage in electing him president. None.

Anyone advocating his candidacy is very little better than an Obamabot.

But those using smear, leftist characterizations and innuendo to destroy the candidacy of good men, both of whom would be an immense improvement over Obama, have now become the enemy. IMO.

1. This was 4 years ago.

2. Santorum is 100% correct regarding spiritual warfare. I don’t care if he gets elected. He is correct.

3. Drudge is Sludge.

For crying out loud, there is a bigger picture here and while it is good for you to point out that you think God told you this and that it is not good for a general election because of the way the media manipulates republicans and their words.

Sanotrum has not been attacked like Newt yet but it is coming and he needs to stay in focus and not get sucked in.

To win a war you have to understand the enemy, if you do not understand the enemy you will lose the war.

When did Rick say that God told him to run?

Still waiting on an aswer to that one, too.

So every voter that is Episcopalian, Lutheran, Methodist, and Presbyterian is a “committed leftist” that can be safely written off?

"Aren’t an enormous number of voters members of mainline Protestant churches?

Most will vote for Obama, because he speaks their language...atheistic socialism, same-sex marriage, anti-Catholic, ProChoice, ProAbortion, wealth redistribution, etc, etc.

Are you happy with a candidate who will lie to people to get elected? I think that candidate is Romney or Obama, either one...it makes no difference.

About 15% of American adults make up Mainline Protestantism, if people are educated enough to know what Mainline Protestantism is...therein potentially lies the problem, I think Santorum is speaking above many peoples level of knowledge, but then again America is responsible for her own choices and if we're stupid enough to not vote for a man because he is the only one telling it like it is, then we deserve our ill fate. Then again, how will people ever wake up to the truth/fact we have this Marxist cooperation between churches, if someone like Santorum doesn't wake us up.

Pray, pray, and pray some more for a 100% ProLife president...we need one now more than ever in history.

I find it "peculiar" how Santorum's name has not YET been entered into the dictionary here on FreeRepublic and hence his name still gets highlighted in spellcheck...hmmm.

The conservatives in the mainline denominations will cheer him on. The socialists will keep hugging trees.
