WASHINGTON President Barack Obama will deliver a speech on energy and rising gas prices Thursday at the University of Miami, FOX News Channel reported.
White House officials told FOX the president will lay out an "all of the above" approach to the nation's energy security that he has previously outlined and will tout the fact that domestic oil production has risen on his watch while imports have decreased.
Gas prices have continued to climb in recent months, surpassing $4 per gallon in some areas. According to the Automobile Association of America's (AAA) Daily Fuel Gauge Report, the average price of regular gasoline in the US rose Tuesday to $3.57 per gallon, a 12.6-percent increase from the year-ago average price of $3.17.
The White House on Tuesday acknowledged that gas prices were causing Americans to feel pain at the pump, but said there's little the federal government can do to contain rising costs.

Thank a liberal the next time you speak with them that your oil futures are through the roof. Tell that liberal that Obama is the best thing since sliced bread as far as oil goes. Watch that liberal head explode.
Florida is always hit disproportionately by high gas prices because it kills the vacations.
Drat, I forgot about that one. Also, let us remember to get tune-ups.
Ya, let’s all buy Chevy Volts.
I think Obama once said we should all buy cars with better gas mileage, if we were concerned about rising gas prices. I think if a Republican had said that, the liberals and the MSM would have been saying that the President had a “let them eat cake” callousness about rising gas prices.
Of course, we know that since Obama is a good Democrat, the MSM will cover for him.
“Florida - Inflate your Tires! Want to hear me sing?”
Every bumper ought to have a sticker saying, "Bush left you with $1.87/gas. Obama brought you $4+/gal gas. How's that hope and change working for ya now?"
Right. Leave it to Bammy to try and get credit for raising domestic production. Domestic production has risen IN SPITE of Bammy, not because of him.
And where the hell are the Republicans to point this out?
It says something about "it's not what you wanted, but it's the car we had to build to save the country.
I kid you not. With Bammy's speech today on communism (we have to all work together for everyone's good) and the Volt commercial, they've pretty much gone full blown tyranny. They don't even try and hide it, anymore.
Epic failure.
“Under my plan, energy prices will necessarily skyrocket”. BH0
Yeah, the commercial has an “American Trabant” vibe to it.
American Trabant...very fitting for O’s Volt!
There’s no way. Gas ALWAYS goes up as summer progresses. obama can’t change market forces like that.
"Put some more air in your tires."
"I did say NECESSARILY SKYROCKET, didn't I?"
"Just go buy a new car with better mileage."
"little the federal government can do"
In a nation that has hundreds of years of energy reserves?
The very same administration that can "regulate" the weather on a global scale?
Little bammy is getting further and further from reality via his narcissist delusional construct in his version of "reality." Too many yes men kissing his azz, too many communist masters back-channel feeding his personal foutune, too many GEVD's (Government Entitlement Voting Drones), too many go-pee's (GOP-E's) sniffing around for a deal.
Everything he does turns to crap the instant he touches it. After a summer of astronomical gasoline prices and the cost of goods is soaring due to energy and transportation costs his real poll numbers could be in the low forties, perhaps even the high thirties.
I would be looking for the little fagot to go right `round the bend in October...
.
Seriously, gang, we’ve got to get a better Early-Warning-Systen on this 0boz0.
C’mon, troops - we gotta get our shit together again!
We nailed the klintoon-o’gore’ono assholes - we can do this chump.
Bang everyone, Joe ... Thanks ......................... FRegards
