I am not going to get into whether Santorum is a big government politician, because they are ALL big government politicians, including your pick, Ron Paul:

Ron Paul: Earmarks (Fiscal Year 2008)

But if you dare say that there is not a coordinated evil effort at destroying our institutions, you have had your head in the sand. From just the last 24 hours:

Sharia in Pennsylvania: Muslim admits to attacking atheist; Muslim judge dismisses case

Ron Paul has been more consistently small government than any other member of Congress. He views earmarks as a method (albeit not an ideal one) to return federally confiscated dollars to the citizens of the district he represents. Earmarks are such a small percentage of federal spending that attacking them is little more than cheap John McCain style politics.

Who is coordinating your theorized "evil effort at destroying institutions", and which institutions are you concerned about? I'm concerned about how the federal government is attacking our liberty and our bank accounts, and I don't think Republicans starting a religious war against sensuality is going to help defend us against big government.
