KABUL -- Afghanistan wants NATO to put on public trial those who burned copies of the Quran at a NATO base, President Hamid Karzai's office said Thursday, after a third day of bloody protests over the incident.
It said NATO had agreed to a trial, but that could not be immediately confirmed.
Karzai had earlier accused a U.S. officer of "ignorantly" burning copies of the Quran, in an incident that has deepened anti-Western sentiment in a country NATO is trying to stabilize before foreign combat troops leave by the end of 2014.
Demonstrations have drawn thousands of angry Afghans to the streets, chanting "Death to America!" amid violence that has killed 11 people including two U.S. service personnel.

There is absolutely no reason to sacrifice American lives for a conflict we have no intention of winning with an already announced withdrawal date.
All that we are doing now is allowing free target practice.
As always, we should have gone in, lopped off heads, promised to return for more of the same if they bothered us again, and then gotten ourselves out of there with the reprisal victory that we had won within months of entry.
Now we know.

Looks like 0bama found a way to get out of Afghanistan.. Have a Quran burning and ‘accidentally reveal on purpose’ that it happened. We’ll be out of Afghanistan by the election, just as 0bama planned it. And with our tails between our legs, but would 0bama have it any other way?
Start by penalizing Afghanistan a million dollars a day until the protesters are gone and charge them for all damages.
If they don't come through, then take military action against one of their units closest to Karzai - start by leveling one of their barracks.
These people only respond to strength and force. If we don't take tough action now the next time the radicals will do worse.
I heard a female comedian talk about Afghanistan after doing a USO tour.

You know, if any country could benefit from being slagged into a glass surface, this would be the one. The best thing for the U.S. is to completely pull out right now, and warn the motherfuchers if a single U.S. citizen or piece of property is harmed in the future from anyone originating from this miserable piece-of-shite country, then immediate slagging would occur.

Amazingly, I don't see one word in this thread about the poor SOB U.S. soldiers who are going to get the pipe on this. There'll be a goat or goats who will be drawn and quartered by the Obama administration.....including his minions, spokesmen, czars, cabinet secretaries and slavering tools in the traitorous media....all of whom will demand the heads, the careers, the lives, the blood, the very breath of any of our guys over there who (gasp) played a part in this world-shaking, horrendous burning of Rome....oops, the Koran.
Even the perfumed princes of the military class will not protect their under-officers and individual troops in this case.....it's too toxic politicallyfor them to step forward and defend any subordinate(s).

The moslems have been taxing, humiliating and killing non-moslems, burning their religious texts/books, and attacking & destroying their places of worship for centuries! Acts that have continued to this day in more than a few moslem countries.
Yet they expect & in fact demand the same people they call “najess” (impure), “Kafir” (disbeliever) & Jahiel (ignorant) to help them when they need it! It is time to give them a dose of their own medicine.
Sad to say this as a retired military, but you are correct. If those savages want to live in the 6th century, let them live that way. Just leave enough small arms ammo and C4 to blow up all of their fellow savages. Take a fully loaded squadron of bombers filled with queerans with self lighting fuel and fuses and drop them over the entire country.
