It looked like something broke (sparks under the car) on the 42 and he headed for the outside wall...right into the jet dryer.
The vibrations he was feeeling were likely drive train related,, when it finally failed, ya get lots of sparks and are just along for the ride.. add a steep banked track to the mix,, and waa laaa.
