PHILADELPHIA -- Authorities say a letter containing suspicious white powder was sent to the Philadelphia office of U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey.
Philadelphia police say Toomey's downtown office received the letter around 2:30 p.m. Thursday and that police and firefighters responded. Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokeswoman, says authorities are conducting tests on the substance, but have not yet identified it. It wasn't immediately clear what the letter said.
No injuries were reported. A Toomey spokeswoman says the matter has been referred to law enforcement.

Funny thing, the media shedding crocodile tears for Pat, and elevating him to the U.S. Senate in this article, in the text if not the headline.
I’ve become skeptical of the many events that we see in today’s world. How many of these events happen spontaneously? How many are scripted to move public opinion? We’ve become a devious complex society that is sometimes too smart for its own good, while we have a nation of the gullible.
I would submit that such events are as likely to be perpetrated by those who will benefit financially, politically or in national policies, than the most obvious. Is there a white powder detector out there that taxpayers can spend a fortune on?
We need to think outside the box and not as gullible sheep. As an example if (God forbid) a mass shooting ever takes place, we need to consider the potential it was directed by those who want gun control. Be skeptical and examine all motivations.
Was it postmarked from the White House or the reid or pelosi offices?
