Democrats Are Praying for a Santorum Nomination
WSJ ^ | 24 feb 2012 | DOROTHY RABINOWITZ

DOROTHY RABINOWITZ

These have been good days for Rick Santorum, buoyed as he campaigns by conservative Republicans cheering their newly anointed hope. Still, it will occur to at least some of his supporters that their hope is destined to be short-lived, that their candidate's particular baggage would sink any presidential candidacy. Especially his.

It's not only that a certain body of Santorum pronouncements on social issues exists, and that they're of a sort that large sectors of the American electorate find unpalatable, to put it mildly. Or that he continues to add to them.

By the time Democratic researchers apply themselves to this compendium of Mr. Santorum's views—in the unlikely event that he becomes the Republican nominee—it's size will have doubled, at the least. The Republicans have already provided President Obama with high-value gifts this election year, but none nearly as delectable as the prospect of a run against Mr. Santorum.

Good. Let them send their minions out in MI to vote for Santorum and kill off Romney. Then we can have a conservative nominee in the fall one way or the other.

May they get their wish. Democrats have always overplayed their hand. They will surely overplay this one. The only way to loose this election will be to abandon the conservatives, not denigrate them.

Exactly.

Besides, I refuse to be manipulated by the left and frankly don’t care whether they think he’s an easy target or not. We stand a far better chance with him than we ever did with McCain.

People who don’t like it can go ahead and prove they’re marxists.

who do obama-loving democrats pray too, anyway? and what do they pray for? 5 more years of anti-religious, anit-American, anti-individual liberty, class warfare envy rousing affirmative action in the White House?

Is that like praying for a hurricane to hit a big city to damage a sitting president’s poll numbers??

1) this is an indicator that they are really NOT wanting to face Santorum and

2) to whom are they praying?

Hold up the mirror of the Law to the leftist ideology and you’ll find that it is the diametric opposite of every one.

Sour Grapes rationalization here. Santorum (or ANY other-than-Romney-the-RINO) Nomination will mobilize the American Citizens who are FED UP with the Progressive/Socialist/Communist Agenda...but it's too little, too late.

ALL the Democrat-installed handouts and takeovers cannot be un-done until a Conservative, Filibuster-proof Majority is installed in both Houses of Congress, and the USSC is rid of the parasitic-supportive Liberal plants there to handout Tax Dollars and trash the Constitution.

We will never see (most of us) another America that once was.

So long as Santorum remains on offense, he should have as good a chance as any other candidate. Granted, the chances of any opponent beating 0bama are horrendously slim, but the dragging of social issues into the spotlight has been needed for a long time. This country needs to take a hard look at itself.

“We will never see (most of us) another America that once was”

Very true, considering the non-taxpaying percentage in this country is at an all-time high of 49.5%. And that 49.5% LIKES it that way.

No matter WHICH of the remaining four candidates, there is a separate but equal narrative making the rounds out there that “the DNC and the White House in the worst way” want so and so to be nominated. Fact is, probably their biggest hope would be in Romney. Having said that, they have an interchangeable narrative to beat up whomever is the nomineee. Santorum will get it. Newt will get it. Romney will get it. Paul will get it. It is time we deal with it, ignore what the Democrats say or want (sometimes it is also disinformation) and focus on our own race, pick the best, solid conservative, and be on with it. With enough elbow grease and a horrid economy by next November, any of the four remaining GOP Candidates will beat Barack Obama and THEY KNOW IT IN THE WHITE HOUSE. Now it is up to us that whomever goes on to beat Obama is the one we can most live with as our new Republican President.

I often listen to Leftist talk radio on my drive into work, and I have heard them say the exact same thing about every front runner we've had in this election. They prayed for Perry, Cain, Newt, Mitt, and now Santorum.

Democrats pray? To whom?

Never mind. Let them pray.

Perhaps they’ll stumble onto some truth.

Sure, that’s why the Democrat Propaganda Ministry is giving Mr. Santorum all this good press and proclaiming how “electable” he is. (/s)

You’d think “conservatives” would stop falling for this poppycock after a while, but you’d be wrong ...

How is it that so many 'economic conservatives' are incapable of acknowledging that social issues are extremely important to a very significant, and highly motivated, portion of the American electorate?

Why is it that social issues are the only set of issues that are considered mutually exclusive of all other issues, as if everyone else besides social conservatives are repelled by them?

Its not logical.
