Surely you mean nicknamed him Petros?... his name was Simon..
Some think Jesus was making metaphorical reference to something “else”..
You know like he(jesus) did with most other things.. i.e. use metaphors..
Some call them parables but they are metaphors just the same..
His(jesus) disciples whined, “Why must you always use metaphors?”...
The answer was significant.. that many still miss..
Not according to Jesus it wasn't. No metaphor there.
There were at least four Popes who were contemporaries of Jesus. Perhaps you know more about Christianity than they and their followers did?
