Exactly.....the only reason that Santorum (or Palin, or George W. Bush) are controversial when discussing matters of faith and morality, is that people know they actually mean what they say.

When it comes from Obama or Clinton, everyone knows it's a lie, so it's no big deal for them to say the words.

The church does not play a role, except to defend the direct attack from Obama. Individuals of a church have every right to run for office, vote.....and to speak of their faith. The left has scared people away from publicly speaking of their faith (because its a loser for the left) They have tried to take God out of the public square everywhere they could. They have succeeded in schools and look at the problems this nation is facing in schools, including the shooting today.

Romney Admits He Destroyed Government Records To Keep Them From Political Opponents

Last week, a Boston Globe investigation uncovered that former Gov. Mitt Romney’s administration destroyed emails, purchased hard drives, and otherwise obliterated all digital records of his time as governor of Massachusetts. This happened as Romney was leaving the state to campaign for president (the first time), and observers immediately speculated that the systematic destruction was politically motivated to hide embarrassing data.
Romney and his campaign have so far denied this, with the candidate saying this weekend in New Hampshire that his staff took the highly unusual step of purchasing their work hard drives because they might contain “confidential and private” information. Meanwhile, he’s made calls for greater White House transparency a part of his campaign message.
But in a fairly stunning admission today during an interview with the editorial board of the Nashua Telegraph in New Hampshire, Romney suggested that his administration deleted emails because they didn’t want “opposition research teams” to have access to them:
ROMNEY: Well, I think in government we should follow the law. And there has never been an administration that has provided to the opposition research team, or to the public, electronic communications. So ours would have been the first.

While Romney’s claim that no previous administration had kept emails may be true, that’s hardly a strong precedent given that emailing was not commonplace for very many years before Romney took office.
Meanwhile, Romney clearly broke precedent with the hard drive buybacks, as staffers for previous administration called the purchases “unheard of.” Terry Dolan, who worked in six previous administrations in the state, told the Globe, “That had not happened prior to the end of the Romney administration.” “I don’t remember anybody buying their hard drives. I don’t remember anybody buying anything,’’ said Stephen Crosby, who worked for Romney’s two predecessors.

I’m about to the point where I’m skipping the presidential race if Romney’s the nominee.

Let me jump in and take a stab at this. A Santorum win in Michigan helps Newt the same way a Newt win in SC last month helped Santorum. Now in the short term, the SC victory was a big boost to Newt’s momentum, but in the longer term it helped Santorum because Mitt trained both barrels and went radioactive on Newt in FL. After FL, much of the GOP electorate perceived Newt to be “damaged goods”, but they still loathe Romney, hence the Santorum rise.

If Santorum takes Michigan, you will see the same kind of all-out assault on him going into Super Tuesday. The entire Romney slime machine-the “conservative” pundits, Drudge, the MSM, Romney’s surrogates, and millions in Super-Pac ads will all be trained on Santorum.

This can benefit Newt, especially if Romney’s slime machine does enough damage to Rick that Newt can win a couple other states besides GA. This could put Newt back in the ball game, boost his fundraising, and bring GOP voters back to him as the not-Romney candidate.

All this of course is contingent on one thing I’m not entirely certain of-that the Romney slime machine is successful in going nuclear on Rick. For the most part, that is already what they’re doing in Michigan, and yet Rick still has a 50/50 shot of winning-a much better position than Newt was in on the eve of FL.

Could be that there’s simply not enough baggage for the slime machine to hang around Rick’s neck, and/or GOP voters have grown tired of seeing the same movie played over and over on every not-Romney candidate that is the latest threat. If that is the case, the entire sliming strategy might just backfire and make a plurality of GOP voters rally around to Rick as their final not-Romney choice, in which case a Michigan win may not be so helpful for Newt.
