Front-runners Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum are in a virtual tie with the former Massachusetts governor up by just two points as the Michigan Republican Primary race comes down to the wire.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Republican Primary Voters in Michigan, taken Sunday night, finds Romney will 38% support to Santorum’s 36%. Texas Congressman Ron Paul and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich remain far behind with 11% and 10% of the vote respectively. One percent (1%) likes another candidate in the race, and five percent (5%) remains undecided.

Ping!

Santorum surging; Rasmussen’s six point deficit on Thursday cut to 2 last night. Trends are all in Santorum’s favor.

Santorum has to overcome the Romnyy-the-RINO shenanigans of a mega-load of "Early Ballots", that, and here's a surprise, are OVERWHELMINGLY for Romney-the-RINO.

The Estaablishment Elite are trying to build a cushion for their guy.

GO RICK!!!! Last night Billy Cunningham interviewed Rick. Rick was truly on his game, and at the end, after an eloquent monologue by Rick on why FREEDOM had to be the focus, Billy stated out of nowhere, “I hope you win.” It was funny, but I think that after Rick’s passionate defense of his campaign’s themes, goose bump worthy, I think that most of the listeners were thinking the same. Even if Romney wast to win Michigan by 2 or 3 points and win some delegates, this surely can’t be good news for him. He should be able to win handily in his home state like Gingrich seems to be doing in Georgia. The fact that this race is so close means that he is a very weak candidate. But the establishment will see to it that he pulls it out by hook or by crook.

Billy Cunningham just last weekend said that if Santorum gets the nomination “we have no hope”. If Santorum changed Billy’s feeble mind, he could change the mind of others. All the Romney supporters say anymore is “No one can beat Obama but Romney”. That is all they can say anymore.

Early voting is a problem. The Romney attack dogs must have known the importance of getting to this group. Candidates need to know that absentee ballot strategies must be a part of any campaign.

“All the Romney supporters say anymore is “No one can beat Obama but Romney”. That is all they can say anymore.”

The Gallup poll now says that Santorum is stronger than Romney versus Obama both nationwide and in the swing states. Willard’s electability argument is hogwash.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/story/2012-02-23/swing-states-health-care-obama/53260222/1

Santorum leads Obama 50-45 among swing voters, while Mittens only leads 48-46. Nationwide, Santorum leads 49-46 while Romney is tied with Obama 47-47

The GOP establishment and Romney can control things better in AZ which is a closed primary. Michigan is open. Anyone can vote. Romney is going to lose Michigan. Mark my words.
