The vessel is operated by the same company that operated that Costa Concordia

I think I'd stay away from those guys, at least until they've jailed the current executives.

Also, frankly, those cruise ships look extremely top-heavy to me. Nice in calm weather, with all those portholes looking out, but I'd hate to be caught in a storm in one. Probably have a very wide, flat bottom, which is fine as long as you don't exceed the specs. Once it goes over, it won't come back up. I haven't seen the plans, but that high, fat, luxury look makes me very nervous.

My travel agent just informed me Costa Cruise Line is owned by Carnival Cruise Line. I think that explains a lot.

On the flip side, if the cost of an Italian cruise sinks low enough, Arrivederci! I wonder if I can FReep from the ship?

It’s crazy all the money wasted on maritime engineers and expert ship builders, when we have your eyeballs to rely upon!

Everything about a cruise ship turns me off!

They’re not just top-heavy with poor sea-keeping. They’re floating ginger bread houses with all the sturdiness of an oyster cracker. Just wait until Obama lets LightSquared shut-down GPS. Coastal residents might find a liner in their dining rooms some morning.
