This is overblown. The IRS is very far behind on applications for nonprofit status. They are currently assigning apps received in July 2011. I have done many applications and they always ask for additional information. It hardly matters how complete the application is originally.
The IRS has been used for political intimidation at least since the FDR administration. Anyone who works for the IRS should be ashamed.
Over and above the burdensome nature of this inquiry were the intrusive details that they were asking including schedule and content of every event, speakers names and details, and every communication. Most alarming was their request to provide names and personal information of our volunteers and membership.
This is not overblown. There is only one reason the IRS wants the names of anyone connected with these organizations. And it is not to send them birthday cards.
Let me also point out something else. I have a Kentucky CCDW permit. According to the state, the list of CCDW holders is NOT the business of the federal government. And the state says it will not share those names with the feds. Yet, for some time, the Federales have been "requesting" these names. Unless you were dropped on your head as a baby, you must conclude there is only one reason the Feds want this information. Because they plan on someday coming after you and your firearms. Law abiding citizens get CCDW permits; not criminals and terrorists.
In this country the government is going after its own citizens, NOT terrorists. It is as simple as that. The time is coming when there will be no middle ground. Rebel or capitulate. You will have to make your choice.
I also think it’s overblown. News reports this morning that some refunds will be late, possibly quite late, because of computer glitches.
Obamacare got voted in and had some changes that affected them, then some of those changes were repealed.
IRS is overwhelmed.
