There’s excellent advice in there, pookie. Just want to say, though...when it comes to opening knots there’s a better way. Do it like an animal does it. Grip the last section of knot firmly (they do it with teeth, but use your fingers) and wiggle it back and forth very fast for a few seconds. Knots loosen up amazingly well this way.
