Thanks for the links and posting the info that the US subsidizes medical R & D for the world. Talk about wealth distribution!

I asked a friend in the pharma business about this and this is what he told me:

“This women’s concern is genuine, to some extent at least. It is not like a panic situation, rather pretty routine for us in this industry.

The primary reason for these reported shortages are the supply & demand situation. Add to it, when a particular large manufacture stops/discontinues production (for whatever their reasons), it adds to the problem.

FDA has a special page on their site for ‘drug shortages’ and they update the details frequently, along with reason for shortages + also when the situation is likely to improve. They do monitor the situation.

I think this is the link: http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/DrugSafety/DrugShortages.htm.

Trust all is well at your end. Look forward to see you again sometime soon.

Have a great day.

Regards,

The ultimate quality depends upon who puts the ingredients together, and who packages the finished product.

I hear ya'. I had practical experience with that while in Dubai. They have tons of Indian manufactured meds, most are what we consider prescription, but they sell them OTC. QC is definitely lacking in many.
