In Memoriam: Andrew Breitbart (1969-2012)

Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles.

We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior.

Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love.

Andrew recently wrote a new conclusion to his book, Righteous Indignation:

I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I love fighting back, I love finding allies, and—famously—I enjoy making enemies.

Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I’ve lost friends, perhaps dozens. But I’ve gained hundreds, thousands—who knows?—of allies. At the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well at night.

I didn’t see him at CPAC but I listened to his speech on the Net.

It was cheerful, funny as heck and different from what anyone else said ... which kinda describes Andrew.

I feel it as well jersey - hard to explain beyond the ‘he was so young’ part of it -
Having met him and admired his fearless passion, I am just at a loss -

He truly did carry that banner for freedom and it just frosts me that slugs like david brooks live on - I know, horrid of me, but I am only being honest. What value did brooks ever ever bring to this nation or her people??

Prayers to Andrew’s wife and children - may God send his Angels to comfort them through this tragedy.

My first husband and father of my only child died at age 39 of a heart attack.

He was tall, thin and not anybody’s picture of a heart problem. Turned out his arteries were clogged horrible. He died in the bath tub.

I saw him on an airplane to Sun Valley from LAX. I usually leave celebrities alone, but for some reason as he was walking down the aisle, I said Hi, introduced myself, and told him I was a big fan. I felt good about it and glad I did it. God Bless Andrew. DS

I’ve been following Andrew on Twitter and the bile they spew at him is incomprehensible. I certainly hope they check out the guy who has been threatening him this week. And James O’Keefe better watch his back... and be armed at all times.

From Mark Levin’s FB:

Like most, I am totally stunned and deeply saddened by Andrew’s passing. He was a wonderful person and patriot. He loved his family and country. I will miss him. Many of us will. Andrew had enormous energy and courage. He was a pioneer. He was only 43 years old. I wish I had known him longer. The last time I was with Andrew was in November, when we both spoke in Washington at an Americans for Prosperity event, where Occupy DC was outside the convention center making all kinds of accusations and bullying people. Andrew loved the battle and he knew the stakes. May he rest in peace. May his family find peace. May God bless him.

Dana Loesch:

From her bio, the lady is probably up to the task of continuing Breitbart's work... RIP Beitbart, good luck Dana.

I just heard this. I can’t believe it. Totally shocked. He was one of us and a great leader, a bold conservative, and an important person. I heard him speak live and fell in love. Prayers for his loved ones. He had little kids. Not fair. He could have had so much more to do. We lost a really good one. I’m sad.

"Brain bleed? Did she have an aneurysm?"

My husband had a brain bleed. A small artery in the brain ruptured.

Apparently there was a tear in my Tin-Foil hat and it let some conspiracy in. I’ll repair it with some duct tape and see if that helps.

You have to look into the stress factors as well. Once you get into your 40’s, for men, and 50’s for women, heart attacks do happen.

Make that a small vein in the brain.

Andrew collapsed last night after leaving a restaurant. He was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead early this morning.

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012/03/anfrew-breitbart-dead/

Greg Gutfeld said on Fox this morning that he had been warning Andrew about his health and that he should take better care of himself. So it seems it must be something Andrew was dealing with.
