You know, I don't know if I can get enthusiastic about Mitt, but this goes a long way to helping me pull the lever if he's the nominee.

Nugent is a good dude.

I recommend rehab, Laz.

Start by rereading the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

At least he WAS, if at all.

Now, there is no reason not to hate his guts for this.

You have summed up the problem with this election, my FRiend.

There is no GOP candidate that anybody is in love with or is excited about. That is not a recipe for victory.

Think back on every election of your lifetime. I think it is safe to say that the candidate with the most devoted base wins. There just aren't enough independents to rely on to swing an election. I can't remember the last time that a candidate that nobody likes beat a sitting president.

I think Romney will be a very weak candidate in the general because his base doesn't like him. And Newt and Santorum won't do well with independents.

I'm in the convenient position of not having to vote for POTUS - I live in CA, so my vote here won't count. Thank God, because I really can't stomach voting for Mitt Romney. Were in in a swing state, I suppose I would have to at least consider it, but I would hate it.

I will say that Romney as president presents many potential dangers. Govt. grew more under Bush 2 than under Clinton. I can't picture Romeny doing anything transformational.

On the other hand, I may be willing to take my chances with a guarantee that we will primary President Romney in 2016, and get rid of him that way. There will be some pretty good candidates available then.
