Today, the editorial board of the Washington Post took a stand against Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, claiming that the GOP must distance itself from the popular radio talker.
IN A DEMOCRACY, standards of civil discourse are as important as they are indefinable. Yet wherever one draws the line, Rush Limbaugh’s vile rants against Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke crossed it.His way of showing this anger was to smear Ms. Fluke, who approached Congress to support the plan, as a “slut” seeking a government subsidy for her promiscuity...[Snip]
What we are saying is that Mr. Limbaugh has abused his unique position within the conservative media to smear and vilify a citizen engaged in the exercise of her First Amendment rights, and in the process he debased a national political discourse that needs no further debasing. This is not the way a decent citizen behaves...
On February 24, news broke that television show host Bill Maher pledged one-million dollars in support of the re-election of Barack Obama. While noting that the pledge makes Maher one of Obama’s largest dollar supporters, the story also notes Maher’s “disdain” for Republican politicians.

Less than a year ago, in March of 2011, Maher called Palin a “dumb tw*t,” as reported here by the Daily Caller. On March 29, 2011, the Caller also reported that Maher called Palin the “C-word.”
The facts above suggest that, as it is acting only now, when it involves a conservative and the GOP, the Post’s seemingly lofty call for civility in discourse– as well as a voice in who politicians, or political parties may align with — is subject to the charge of being driven by an egregious double standard, if not political ideology.

Limbaugh's comments certainly have much more basis in fact than the epithets hurled around by Bill Maher.
These libs are absolutely hilarious in their butt-licking of their leaders whom I will not name, in deference to the UAV that is circling over my home at this moment, and in actually thinking (or pretending to think) that we are falling for their misrepresentation of the facts.
Of course, if no one misrepresented (i.e., lied), there would probably be no liberals, but I digress.
I could waste my time sending a list of what the libs call ‘civil discourse’ in their alternate world, to these dingbats, but my time is worth more than that.
Suffice it to say, all we should say in response to any of these nonsensical comments and articles is:
(1) someone who wants others to pay them for having sex is not a nice person;
(2) Hearing on Government Overreach (what the congressional hearing was REALLY called.
If Sandra ‘the Slut’ Fluke IS AN ACTUAL Constitutional scholar, I will retract my complaint that she had no business testifying at that hearing; however, in no way did she address Government Overreach except to promote it as it pertained to her agenda (and sex life).
Since she was unable or unwilling to address the actual topic, her ‘testimony’ should be stricken from the record and ignored by serious people.
Rush, however, was dead on, which once again proves that liberals have absolutely NO sense of humor, dislike being laughed at, and when they get really asinine as they have in this instance, they are truly entertaining.
Yeah. Going on nearly four years now of hearing constant lies, slander, and vileness directed towards Palin... Maher’s vulgarisms, the c*nt t-shirts, comedians ‘joking’ about assassinating her or threatening her with gang-rape. Oh, WHERE THE HELL WAS THE MEDIA THEN? Silence. Never a damned word of protest.
I’d love to be in an enclosed room with these media hypocrites, with nothing but a pipe-wrench in my hand.
Yeah, well, she didn’t actually PAY for her expensive education. My understanding is that she was given grants, which is probably why she expects everything she wants to be given to her.

Rush should take this fight right to obama’s doorstep. He has shyed away from talking about the birth certificate. Well now that he has everyone’s attention, he could put Arpaio’s presentation and accusion of fraud front and center. Hey, he’d just be discussing current events, after all.

Not that I give it too much thought, but I've occasionally wondered if Maher turned out the way he did because he got beaten up too much as a little kid, or not enough. My guess is that he was a bully until the kids he bullied grew up then started beating the crap out of him.
