This phony contraception “issue” was planned at the highest levels by the DNC and Obama 2012 campaign. It was discussed for months. They despeately needed a wedge issue to win back the women they lost in 2010, or Obama would lose. And this is what they came up with. It revealed itself first as a seemingly bizarre question by George Stephanopoulos at that debate. It certainly doesn’t seem bizarre now - because we have been played by the best, step-by-step according to how Dr. Alinsky wrote it. And we fell for it. Rush fell into it. Sandra Fluke will one day be looked back at in the same way as Anita Hill. And make no mistake, this is going to hurt us BIG TIME on November 6th. When will we LEARN the Alinsky method, instead of merely being serial victims of it?

I think it is pretty clear that it was a coordinated Dem campaign strategy. To the extent they really gamed it out, I don't know. Like any other set of war plans, some things work and some things don't. Looks like the Obama campaign team's great "contraception gambit" has worked out very well for them so far.

Santorum being in the race I think has a lot to do with why they ran with this strategy. The Dem campaign team knows Rick has spoken on his personal opposition to contraception. They know Santorum has even said that as President he would be unique because he would talk about why contraception is "not okay". They know in Republican primaries there are actually social conservative voters who actually oppose contraception and would gravitate to Santorum's views on this. And of course every serious political strategist knows these very issues that help Rick in a GOP primary are political poison in a general election. Just talking about contraception is a loser for us. Imagine being stuck with a nominee who has said contraception is "not okay" and feels the need to yammer on about the issue?

Democrats are successfully changing the subject. We have 4 dollar gas right now and a pretty terrible economy, yet Obama is at near 50% approval rating. Imagine when gas prices go back down (and they will) and the economy continue continues improving somewhat.

Yep. Wasn't this Fluke the same woman that the Repubs wouldn't let speak at the first hearing with the religious leaders and the Dem's screamed that a woman was shut down. That didn't get the traction they wanted so they held their own hearing?

If Rush hadn't come out with this statement the media would be talking about him being the leader of the Republican party and thus the Republicans must agree with him or denounce him and slobber all over themselves apologizing. It would have been Republicans hate woman being pounded by the media daily. Rush very well might have lost his show, they were planning on attacking his stations next. So they might have killed two birds with one stone, distraction of the real issues and getting rid of Rush.

Your right this was a loser for us from the beginning. The Dems and the MSM played us like a violin. We have to move on and talk about jobs and the economy. I hope this whole subject is forgotten by November. It is tough when you have the whole media against you.

I have a suspicion it, in conjunction with Game Change, was orginally intended to target Palin.
When she didn't get in the race they decided to run with it anyway.
Not quite the direct hit they had wanted but still able to be used with some effect against generic Republicans.

You totally nailed it here. They should have laughed in Snuffalffagus face, asked "next" and stayed on the relevant topics. A junior high school civics student can see the only way out for the left is to distract voters away from Nero's abysmal performance. Party of Stupid indeed.
