It appears we agree in principle and that is the main point. There was no intent on my part to condemn anyone however they may decide to vote (or not vote).

Given that Romney is currently in the lead; this election is likely to turn out to be a “Hobson’s choice.”

Let’s not forget Harriet Miers, the gem that she was.

There need to be more vetted conservative Tea Party candidates elected in 2012. Romney’s (or Obama’s) Supreme Court choices would have to be approved by the Senate. Obama would use the media to club the Senate over the head if they wouldn’t approve his choices. Romney would have to buck his own party to push thru his liberal choices. Dems and RINO’s have tried to triangulate the Tea Party out of existence because they pose a threat to the status quo. Illinois is a good example of how it works for them. Dems run everything, a weak Republican Party stands on the sidelines to get what they can. Columnist John Kass calls it “The Combine.” They would love to have the Tea Party go off and form a third party. History shows how effective they are—not.

well, oldmaidplayer, I am not in conflict with Obama the person.
I am in conflict with socialism the political Ideology.

Hence depriving that ideology of the prize of being able to control both major parties is a higher goal.than the presidency.

Your shallow grasp.of politics in general, and social conservative goals in particular renders your jeuvenile remark laughable.

Make mo mistake, If people find voting for a social liberal in the primaries costs them both freedoms and their wealth that is a good thing.

Does anybody-but-Obama trump all?

You bet it does. We really need Newt but if he doesn't pick up steam he shouldn't burn his bridges with Mitt. We can use him on the ticket. That would assure a win. In the general election, the left is going to gift wrap Santorum in the contraceptive issue. He'll be a crazy bible thumper by the time they finish with him. It's important to play our cards right. I never thought mitt would win Washington. I thought Paul had that one sewed up. Sorry, but I don't have the kind of hatred for romney that most here have. A lot of true conservatives have thrown in with him. ABO

Fu-fu2:

Demonrats run everything in Illinois because there is no meaningful Republican Party here.

Christine Radogno, the erstwhile "GOP" State Senate "leader" is a pro-abort and, if I am not mistaken, pro-perversion posing as "marriage." Her State Assembly counterpart, Tom "Double" Cross, likewise. They apparently think that running as the Grinch that Wants to Steal Christmas against the Demonrat Santa Claus is a bright idea as the path to restoration of "civilized" (read elitist and murderously social revolutionary) Republican rule.

We have a rather openly homosexual elected state officer (for whom I shall also not vote and maybe he can "marry" Nancyboy Kirk instead with Quinnochio presiding) preparing to run for governor against Quinnochio (the most inept governor in human history as well as a pro-abort and rampaging perversion supporter and gun grabber and tax hiker to the tune of 50% just last year on income and corporate taxes).

We have as another elected state officer Judy Baah Baah Toooopinka more qualified as a lot lizard than as a public office holder and a raving social revolutionary who regularly attends Chicago's annual parade festival of gay everything including cross-dressing to "represent" the Illinois "GOP."

Last election, we had gutless Brady running for governor who did not want to offend the GOP party leaders (read: footstools for the Chicago Demonrat Machine) by actually trying to WIN by attracting long-suffering socially conservative Democrats. Meanwhile Illinois elected Mark "Nancyboy" Kirk to the US Senate. It says a lot that his ex-wife is still friendly with him but refused to vote for him.

The Illinois "GOP" last elected as governor: Jailbird George Lyin' Ryan, once a social conservative who headed for federal prison (like most Illinois governors of recent decades) due to his gross personal corruption. This month, his successor, Rod (Elvis) Blagojevich will be heading to the federal hoosegow in Littleton, Colorado, for a fourteen year stay.

Meanwhile, we are the state whose inept GOP gave Barack Hussein Obama to America, a man who would have had serious problems getting elected to the Senate from New York or California.

The primary boss of the Illinois Demonrats is and has been House Speaker Mike Madigan these last several decades. He started his career as a social conservative and pro-lifer.

All of the foregoing is a good example of what Illinois is a good example of: A "GOP" made up largely of socially revolutionary upper middle class snobs who won't become formal Demonrats because they don't like rubbing elbows with, ummmmm, blacks and Hispanics. That GOP is determined to uphold nothing more than the social isolation of the exclusively white snobbycrat lifestyle, protecting trust funds uber alles and reserving young Muffy's "right" to murder their grandchildren as necessary to maintain family social respectability and "privacy" and young Adam's "right" to make believe that rump-ranging his main squeeze Steve is somehow "marriage." A Demonrat Party that at least knows how to play this game of politics unlike the GOP and knows the value of shamelessly vote stealing and buying as many votes as possible and actively seeking the votes of all the actually living voters as well.

The TEA Party is a good thing (particularly the one in Rockford area) and should determine state legislative nominations, encourage good candidates to run, elect a majority of party caucus members and primary and purge party caucus leaders without mercy (just as should be done in Congress and the US Senate). If a third party effort for POTUS becomes necessary, thank God for the TEA Party.

In Illinois, the only thing that works properly is veteran Congress members Don Manzullo (who has earned the GOP nomination iover Kinzinger in the 16th) and John Shimkus and four TEA Party rookies: Adam Kinzinger (who has NO BUSINESS running against Manzullo and ought to be preparing a challenge to Dick Durbin instead), Bobby Schilling, Joe Walsh (or his primary opponent Chris Evans who is well worth electing perhaps to another office?) and maybe one other not named Dolt.

We are either serious about issues or we are not. Before I came to Illinois a bit over ten years ago, I lived in Connecticut where conservatives organized the defeat of abortion enthusiast, pro-gay enthusiast, anti-American, anti-Reagan, smoocher of Islamofascist butts, Lowell P. Weicker, Jr., in 1988 and elected Joe Lieberman and none of us regret our efforts (which were originally initiated by Bill Buckley). Illinois never purged Upchuck Percy as it should have.

Given that the GOP US senators gave nearly unanimous approval (including Orrin Hatch) to Slick Willie's nomination to SCOTUS of Ruth Bader Ginsberg (despite or because of her background of having been a major ACLU lawyer and abortion "rights" lawyer and her total lack of judicial experience), what on God's green earth makes you hallucinate that the even worse Senate caucus we have now will even THINK of opposing the nomination of more David Souters, more Herod Blackmuns, more William Brennans, more Earl Warrens, more Lewis Powells, more John Paul Stevens, more Sandra Day O'Connors????? Those are faux "GOP" nominations, each and every one. All that LAMAR!!!, Corker, Collins, Brown, Lugar (if, God forbid, he is renominated and re-elected), Murkowski, Graham, McShame, Richard Shelby, Thad Cochrane, Orrin Hatch (for eleven examples and there are more) will do is tell us how they believe in the GOP POTUS' right to get his nominees confirmed and then vote as eagerly to destroy the SCOTUS as will Pat Leahy, John (did you know he served in Vietnam?) Kerry, Bernie Sanders, Richard Blumenthal, Sheldon Whitehouse, Barbara Mikulski, Dickie Durbin, Tom Harkin, Barbara Boxer, Dian Feinstein, Patty Murray, Maria Caldwell, Jeanne Shaheen, Frank Lautenberg, Ben Cardin, Ron Wyden, Amy Klobuchar, Al Franken, Harry Reid, Kristen Gillebrand, Schmuckie Chewmer and soooo many others.

I don’t believe Bill Brady lost. The Combine stole it for the Mighty Quinn and Lil Marky. The rodents similarly outright stole the Minnesota (Dayton) and Connecticut (Malloy) races for Governor, too.

One little correction:
Percy was knocked out by consevatives backing Givot (libertarian) in 1984. He only received 1.25%, but that enough. Anti-Percy billboards were everywhere (The Senate is no place for a chameleon). That was enough to toss the election. Of course, after Simon, the seat went to Durbin, so it didn’t work out so well. (Fitz got the Dixon/Mosely-Braun seat)

I will not vote for Romney in the Spring and I will not vote for Romney in the Fall. Electing Romney is the worst of all possible outcomes this Fall.

I will vote for the nominee even it’s Mr. Magoo or Charlie Sheen.

I could enthusiastically support Magoo. Sheen, depends on his VP. Romney, never!=

I had some contact with Radogno early in her political career. I’m surprised she has lasted this long. She should be home taking care of her grandchildren. Sad that this is the best Illinois Republicans can do for leadership. I agree with the other poster that Brady was robbed. Dems made sure they got Quinn in to put thru the tax increase among other things. I’m not hallucinating when I say that hope lies in electing more vetted Tea Party candidates on the national level as well. Locally, Dems are trying to sneak their own people in to run as alleged Tea party candidates. No one is going to give up their power easily.... What alternative do you offer other than despair?

Relentless political warfare such as my generation waged to put Reagan in the presidency. The mistake we made was retiring from politics prematurely to live our lives, foolishly assuming that we had reached Nirvana on election night 1980.

Brady robbed himself. I saw him speak at Freeport and he dodged every possibility of controversy. Cook County Demonrats rally the dead before every election. First, we need an actual Republican Party. Then we need to wage war on Quinn (the easiest political task in history), Durbin, Nancyboy Kirk, ruthlessly purge the state legislative "GOP" caucuses via primaries, taking control of precinct committee seats statewide, establish propaganda organs, establish or gather together two kinds of political organizations: shotgun and rifle. Shotgun is a description for general conservative multi-issue groups: Illinois Conservative Union, Illinois Center Right Coalition, Illinois Republican Assembly or whatever. Rifle focuses on single issues: Illinois Right-to-Life, Illinois Rifle Association, Illinois Taxpayers' Association, etc. Some of these exist and some do not. Let a thousand flowers bloom as Chairman Mao used to say.

Radogno is such an enthusiast for aborting the innocent unborn. Isn't it the height of hypocrisy for her to have grandchildren of her own??? Doesn't the rejection of charity begin at home?

I NEVER counsel getting despair. I ALWAYS counsel GIVING despair.
