ProFlowers Latest Rush Limbaugh Sponsor To Pull Its Business

A post on ProFlowers' Facebook page announcing it has suspended advertising on Rush Limbaugh's radio show. (Facebook)

By Michael A. Memoli March 4, 2012 The number of advertisers who have at least temporarily cut ties with Rush Limbaugh grew to seven on Sunday in the aftermath of the conservative radio host's self-described "insulting word choices" about a female law student.

ProFlowers, an online florist, is one of the latest companies to announce it would halt advertising on Limbaugh's show.

"Mr. Limbaugh’s recent comments went beyond political discourse to a personal attack and do not reflect our values as a company. As such, ProFlowers has suspended advertising on the Rush Limbaugh radio program," it announced on its Facebook page.

ProFlowers, like other Limbaugh sponsors, faced pressure from women's groups to end its relationship with his show after Limbaugh branded Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke, 30, a "slut" and "prostitute," equating Fluke’s advocacy of expanded coverage for contraceptives with her wanting to be "paid to have sex." Fluke has been a vocal supporter of a new Obama administration rule that mandates greatly expanded access to contraceptives through health insurance plans.

One activist group, UltraViolet, said 91,000 people had signed its petition urging ProFlowers to suspend advertising on Limbaugh's show.

"UltraViolet members are glad that ProFlowers decided to suspend their advertising from the Rush Limbaugh show. … Our members hope that ProFlowers will do the right thing and not only suspend their advertising but pull it permanently," it said in a statement.

Can I ask a serious question, which would enrage liberals, but I ask in all seriousness?

Why is the liberal view that it is good that companies are pulling out of sponsoring Rush Limbaugh, due to concerns about the content of his programming, but the liberals were enraged when Lowe’s pulled advertising from the reality show “All American Muslim”, due to concerns about the content of that programming???

This question probably would make liberals angry, but I really want to know the answer. If we’re saying that advertisers should pull out from Rush over this controversy, and not wanting to be associated with Rush and his show, why did the liberals protest so much when Lowe’s did the same thing, pulling out of All American Muslim???

What is the liberal view? Is it appropriate to pull advertising from programs someone objects to? What are he criteria for deciding?

Bow to pressure from the anarchists to abandon the capitalist Limbaugh ... I wonder how that business plan will work for them?

A recent comment on a future “fiat currency” called google dollars set me thinking. I have always said two disparate cultures can not occupy the same space but maybe we can. We could have “red dollars” for the Marxists and Blue dollars for Patriots and companies and others could choose who they wanted to patronize or to have patronize them. over time I am sure the libtards would starve and disappear but in the meanwhile we could ignore them...

Very simple. Liberals believe in double standards. Which is ironic since they claim loudly to oppose such things but their actions say otherwise.

My e-mail to ProFlowers:

Dear ProFlowers,

I became a regular ProFlowers customer when I first heard your ads on Rush Limbaugh’s show a few years ago. I, like the other 20 million weekly listeners to his show value what he says, and what he recommends. I’m not sure how much business Rush has brought your company, but I’ll guess it’s substantial. This being the case, I was beyond disappointed that ProFlowers decided to be politically correct and drop their sponsorship to Rush’s show simply because Rush expressed a valid opinion about this fraud…Ms. Fluke.

Just as you have made a decision that will impact Mr. Limbaugh, many more of us are also making a decision that will indeed impact you. I purchased flowers from you this past Valentine’s Day; this will indeed be my LAST purchase from ProFlowers. I’m certainly not alone in my disgust for the gutless, politically motivated decision you have made to drop sponsorship of Rush’s show. You might want to take a look around the blogosphere this day; outrage at your decision will have the opposite effect you had intended. Do you really think that dropping sponsorship to Rush’s show in such a politically motivated way will not have financial consequences for your business.

I’m ashamed to say that was a ProFlowers customer!

Former Customer,

-Artcore

the business plan will not pay off for them, long term.

This storm will blow over, as all storms do.

Rush still has high ratings, and I’ve heard that his demographic is a desirable one. One key component of Rush’s audience are people who work for a living, many of whom own their own businesses, and they have disposable income.

I think that concerns over liberal outrage will take a back seat soon to concerns about reaching an audience with money to spend, who are interested in the products they have to sell.

We are on the verge of a civil war with King Obama and his communists followers. They will find the rage of real Americans that have had enough.

Contact Pro Flowers http://www.proflowers.com/ContactUs.aspx?ref=homenoref

My message:

Pro-Flower pulling ads from Rush Limbaugh means that I will NEVER use this company again. Rush was standing up for morality in condemning a woman who is trying to get the taxpayers to fund her immoral lifestyle.

We are amazed that Pro-Flowers would so easily give into a campaign of hate against Rush, who is a true American and supporter of all that is good in America. He was merely pointing out how absurd it is that this woman would speak before a congressional hearing to expose her lose and immoral life style.

Apparently the decision makers of your company agree with the left wing that taxpayers should fund unlimited sex by unmarried people.

She has a right to choose that life style, but it is not our responsibility to fund it. Goodbye Pro-flowers. You can forget about getting my business forever.

Now that he apologized they’re coming with an all out assault. I guess he forgot that Trent Lott apologized and ended up gone anyway. If he’d have ignored it he’d probably still be in the senate.

Now they’ll find something Rush says to be insulting every day. And they won’t stop. They smell blood in the water. And when they can get Limbaugh, they’re not far from the finish line.
