The Georgetown University law student labeled a "slut" by conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh says his apology changes nothing and that Americans have to decide whether to support companies that continue to advertise on his program.
"I don't think that a statement like this issued, saying that his choice of words was not the best, changes anything, and especially when that statement is issued when he's under significant pressure from his sponsors who have begun to pull their support," Sandra Fluke told ABC’s "The View” on Monday.
The 30-year-old Fluke said she hasn't heard from Limbaugh since he issued a written apology late Saturday. But she says his comments about her testimony before members of Congress have been so personal, she'd rather not have him call. Fluke recently testified to Democratic members of Congress in support of a requirement that health care companies, even those connected to religious organizations, provide coverage for contraception.

Nancy Pelosi’s initiative to convince Sandra Fluke to testify to the principle of contraception as a health care necessity is simply wrong. Colleges and universities provide accidental injury/major medical and not traditional employee health insurance to students. Since students are generally young and not subject to the myriad diseases confronting older people or families with children, the coverage is limited. Not only contraceptives, but many medical procedures and drugs are not included. Since sexual intercourse is an optional, and not a required activity of law school students, contraceptives should not be among policy provisions.
Ms. Fluke testified that 40% of the women in law school considered sexual intercourse a compelling or preferred recreational activity. Therefore, the proper place to make her case is with the Georgetown University Student Association. The university encourages students to actively engage in more than 200 co-curricular clubs and activities. She testified to what would be more accurately described as a club sport or performing art, than as a health care necessity.
The analogy should not be considered facetious, but should awaken people to the limits of targeted, low cost insurance programs.

We decided to support Rush and the companies that have the guts to stay with him. Is this going to be the campaign issue with the dems - so lame. But, rather than tackle the real issues this year - they decide to tackle Rush. Good luck with that!

2)She could have gotten her pills for $5 from the planned parenthood clinic down the street from the school as well as all the free condoms she wanted as DC provides them as taxpayer cost.
3)More importantly Democrats need to keep this going as gas prices have topped $5 in most places, the White House has no plan to deal with them and the latest numbers will show a up swing in unemployment soon.

Sandra Fluke was right. She is a radical feminist who is taking government funding for her law degree, and has decided to use her body as a government funded recreation venue, evidently open to all comers. As such the federal government, as do state, county, and local government entities that use tax monies for recreational facilities, must provide proper maintenance for the facility in question until it is more cost effective to raze the facility and develop another.
