Food riots, social disorder, etc. ..... and thus the ability to suspend the usual rule of law, elections, hold anyone perceived to be a threat per NDAA .... proclaim martial law.

Not trying to link your FR start date with your question, but every piece of legislation passed by the left is to make us all more and more dependent on the Government. They would give you EVERYTHING for free as long as you give them control over what you get.
