Netanyahu Controls Obama’s Fate
Dick Morris.Com ^ | March 6, 2012 | Dick Morris

If Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to seal President Obama’s fate, all he has to do is to attack Iran. It is clear from Obama’s AIPAC speech that the president will continue to talk about diplomacy and sanctions for the remainder of his term and will take no military action against Iran. If Israel attacks Iran, she will achieve three things:

a. Israel will buy time by delaying the Iranian nuclear program by one to three years.

b. Those extra years will give the effective sanctions, only now being imposed, time to work.

c. The resulting increase in the price of oil – and its impact on the American economy – will doom Obama’s re-election chances, assuring that a pro-Israeli Republican Administration takes power.

With a Republican in the White House and in control of Congress, Israel will be well positioned to derail permanently the Iranian nuclear program.

Obama could never recover from the run-up of oil prices that would follow an Israeli attack. His refusal to approve the Keystone Pipeline, to drill in the ANWR reserve, and to issue permits for deep sea drilling, all make him ultra-vulnerable on the gas price issue. He has no good answers on the subject.

A huge increase in gas prices at the pump will also send the world into the same kind of oil shock as happened in 1973 and 1979, each of which was followed by a global recession in reaction. Obama would not be able to be re-elected amid the tidal wave of bad economic news he would face.

How ironic that Netanyahu, therefore, really controls Obama’s fate. He can’t re-elect his sworn enemy (I doubt anyone can do that) but he can defeat him and likely will do so.

Netanyahu has to face the fundamental fact that Israel cannot survive another four years of an Obama presidency. Freed of the constraints that the need to get re-elected imposes, the president’s anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian bias will come out in virulent form with likely lethal implications for Israel. If Bibi lets Obama get re-elected, he will be dooming the Jewish State to extinction.

All the evidence indicates that he understands his choices and will respond accordingly. At least we hope so.

The interesting facet about an Israeli attack on Iran's nuke sites is that the UN will not rubber stamp Obama this time.

Russia and China vetoes will hogtie the UN on the sidelines. The best Zero can expect is publicity, and he already has that from the MSM.

Ironic that Israel will save the US from itself if Bibi whacks the Iran Carter was too cowardly to whack.

I’ll pay $10 a gallon until Election Day if that will get Obozo out of the White House.

They could achieve that end, without the pain, simply by voting.

I doubt even he and the media together could make that fly.

Does anyone find the decision to move the G8 from Chicago to Camp David on such short notice rather odd. Much easier to protect world leaders there than in a more public venue should an “unforseen” event take place that might lead to a retaliation against U.S. interests.

Hmmmm.

So; let him. If Netanyahu bombing Iran causes gas to go up to $6.00 per gallon, it’s becuase we’re buying it from that part of the world. If we were buying it from Canada (Keystone Pipeline) or Texas (Oil Reserves) we would not be affected, at the gas pump, by what is happening between Israel and Iran. The average American standing at that gas pump (cussing) will not be thinking about Benjamin Netahyahu; they will be thinking: “It’s NOT Bush’s fault this time baby.......it’s your fault, MR. PRESIDENT and I’m gonna help vote yo ass out.

Dick Morris’ analysis is spot on. Wise Patriots who are paying attention to world events should make preparations for the coming oil/economic shock.

about all those $ lost.

Yes, very odd. My first thought was “Hm. What is Obama afraid of?”

Did Rahm ask him to move it so Chicago wouldn’t have to deal with protestors? Have there been threats to personal safety?
Likely we will never know.

The destruction of Iran’s oil and transportation facilities would solve the problem for the future.

My prediction is that Israel will attack the Iranian nuclear facilities on Wednesday, March 7—the Jewish Feast of Purim—which commemorates Queen Esther saving the Jewish people from genocide at the hands of the Persians.

Since Obama rejected giving Israel access to our best bunker penetration bombs, Israel will have to use the best bunker penetration bomb is has which will not penetrate deep enough to destroy the hardened nuclear facilities with conventional weapons. So the Israelis will use a tactical nuclear weapon to destroy Iran's hardened nuclear facilities killing most of Iran's nuclear scientists.

If that is the case, will Mr. Netanyahu please pull the lever for the trap and drop Mr. Obama off the American stage?

I believe you are right, no dems - but the Democrat-media Complex will NOT carry your truth - even if it is THE truth - they'll blame Israel. Or us. Or rich Republicans - or Halliburton or Exxon etc - they'll blame anyone but a democrat - especially they won't blame a democrat President.

No, it wouldn't be because we're buying gas from that part of the world but because of the effect a screwy Iran could have on oil futures and uncertainty for the world oil market. We buy a relatively small amount from that part of the world. Our top five foreign suppliers are Canada, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Venezuela, and Nigeria. Those accounted for 69% of total petroleum imports in 2011. We get more petroleum from Russia than we do from Kuwait and Oman together. Of the top fifteen sources, four are Middle East, accounting for a bit less than 22% of the total. And we get 14% more petroleum from Canada alone than from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, and Oman combined.
