Obama mulls giving Moscow data on missile defense

(Reuters) - The Obama administration disclosed on Tuesday that it is considering sharing some classified U.S. data as part of an effort to allay Russian concerns about a controversial antimissile shield.

The administration is continuing negotiations begun under former President George W. Bush on a defense technical cooperation agreement with Moscow that could include limited classified data, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Brad Roberts told a House of Representatives' Armed Services subcommittee.

He gave no details on the sort of data that might be shared under such an agreement.

Russia strongly opposes the U.S.-engineered bulwark being built in and around Europe against ballistic missiles that could be fired by countries like Iran.

Moscow fears that such a shield could grow strong enough over time to undermine Moscow's own nuclear deterrent force and has threatened to deploy missiles of its own as a counter.

From the article:

“The president is required to certify that any technology shared will not be passed on to third parties such as China, North Korea or Iran, that the Russians will not use transferred secrets to develop countermeasures and that the Russians are reciprocating in sharing missile-defense technology.”

So we’re supposed to just trust the Russians & Obama on this one? Are Obama & Putin going to make a “pinky-promise”?

I don’t understand what gives the Russians so much anxiety about a missile defense system that, for years, Washington liberals keep insisting won’t work.

Just like the "anti-war" movement, the Commie left is behind the "anti-nuke" and anti-missile defense movements. Their 'Useful Idiots' (Liberals) simply follow along. The Commie left know the systems will work. That's why they want them shut down. The naive/ignorant UI libs are duped into actually believing they won't work, much as their duped into thinking the "anti-war" movement is really about peace, love and togetherness. Meanwhile the Commies behind it worship monsters like Mao, Che, Castro and Stalin, while despising the US. Hardly men of peace, love and togetherness. Libs are more stupid than anything else.

It seriously makes me want to find another party.

The Republicans we elect are not doing what we send them to do.

In fact I don’t see them doing anything.

You know, I rake the RNC over the coals continually. It’s not so much it can do everything for us. It’s that it roots for the wrong people. The Republican leadership roots for the wrong people.

Neither of these entities talk up Conservatism or Conservative candidates. That’s where they lose me.

In my own state California, the Republican leadership is invisible. Does it exist or doesn’t it? Who would know? Not a peep comes out of them when good measures are on the ballot. Good candidates come and go. The leadership in the state is mute. Bring on a guy like Schwarzenegger (or more accurately, recruit the guy), and they drop everything to talk him up non-stop.

When the proposition on the ballot offered up open primaries with crossover party voting, the leadership said bupkis. I have no use for these folks. That’s why I said our state would be better off if we expelled them, and blocked re-entry at our border. As for other RINOs from back East, block them too.

We have been betrayed by them for the last time.

In my states of Maryland the Republicans party is also mute.

The National Republican Party ignores us like we do not exist.
National Republican candidates don’t even pay us a visit, and we are right around the corner from DC. I don’t ever remember attending a Republican rally, because I don’t remember a Republican Rally. We did have a few when Charles Lollar ran against Steny Hoyer but they were local GWB didnt bother to come in support of Mr. Lollar against the 2nd highest ranking Democrat in the House.

Idon’t expect we will see any Republican candidate in Md. again this year when our primary is April 3rd.

I hear ya. Here we are the largest state in the union with near 54 electoral votes, and the only rally here is when a Republican drops in state for a few hours to charge a year’s salary for most citizens, for dinner.

Off he goes, to spend the tens of millions in other states.

All they really deserve is a swift kick in the family jewels.

My state has more Mexican citizens that a number of Mexican states, and this guy won’t even show up to help a Republican candidate for Governor for more than an hour or two, if that.

We are in essence a state without a country. No loud voice comes to California and runs on Conservative ideals. The Republican in-state leaders don’t support Conservative ideals or those who hold them. And then the good citizens of California are blamed for not supporting Conservative ideals NEVER presented to them with a loud assertive voice.

Candidate Simon received almost no support. Had he been elected, the state would have avoided the melt down that led to Schwarzenegger, which led to Jerry Brown two.

The Republican party has nearly destroyed this state. They surrendered it to the Democrats and a third world hovel.
