Simple Measures to Defeat BodyScanners at Airport
Break ^ | 3/7/2012 | Break

This is a video showing how easy it is to defeat the TSA body scans and what a scam the entire process is.

Briefly, metal objects show up as "black" on the scan, so you can hide anything you want on your side and walk through the scanner --- something that was impossible with the old-fashioned metal detectors.

Heck I bet a pistol in a shoulder holster would make it through.

And before people cry about "letting the terrorists know," I guarantee they know already.

I am not your servant, you lazy tool.

Go use Google; type in “naked scanners easily defeated.”

Congratulations on finding at least one honest bureaucrat.

I just did. I sampled ten of the hits and they all referred back to this video. If I have a hundred sources on a story, but all of them got their information from the same source, I only have one source.

I’ll keep checking, but so far we have one source and a “claim” that the TSA wants the video deleted, yet I can pull it up and watch it any time I want. ;-)

Update. I hit every link on the first page of hits googling this. ALL of them simply blog, in one way or the other, about the same “engineer” and his video. And the ones with comments all have the same “The TSA is worthless” types of messages.

Don’t get me wrong. I HATE the TSA and have gone through many pat downs to avoid EVER going through one of these machines. But I take every story on a case by case basis.

I’m no fan of Hitler, but if you said he was a lush I’d call you a liar. He was a tea totaler.

So I guess now the TSA well say the solution to this problem is to scan people twice. Once the old way then turn 90 degrees.

Wouldn’t work for behive hair, for example.

(Think Ferris Bueler’s day off.)

I have not flown since the introduction of the XRay/MMW scanners. I will drive or just not go if I don’t have to.

My last trip I was pulled aside as I had set off the metal detector. They tried the hand held version to pinpoint the item. They never found it, and just decided it was a security tag left on my clothes and let me thru.

Scanners were banned in Europe due to health concerns.

When?

From: link UK

...Europe banned the controversial airport 'strip-search' scanners last year over fears the X-ray technology could cause cancer. They emit low radiation doses and the European Union told members in November not to install them until the potential risks are assessed.

You have to keep in mind that the object of the TSA isn’t to achieve air travel security.
It is to present security theatre as a means of providing government jobs to favored groups and government contracts to well-connected donors.

Once you understand that, everything they do makes perfect sense.

Thanks, I was wondering because I went through one at Schiphol in January last year.

More from UK link

...They have also been tested in Germany, France, Italy, Finland and Holland but will be completely banned in April if experts rule they are dangerous.

interesting, TSA is evasive about the health risks and transparency with testing. Hopefully testing results in other countries will be published.
