Can anybody explain that once Osama was killed why we didn’t take the opportunity to declare victory and come home? Does anyone actually think that “nation building” will fundamentally change the Afghans?

I had my Jeep inspected 2 weeks ago at a new (to me) garage. I always tell people that while I own the Jeep, it is going to belong to my son who did some customizing so they know it isn’t me with the weird taste. My son happens to be a Marine, which I shared with the owner.
He told me his father passed away a couple of months ago. There was a delegation from Afghanistan who went to the funeral to offer condolences and to inform him that there are thousands of Afghans praying for his father who set up schools there after 9-11.
I don’t know any culture that doesn’t value their children except pro-abortion nations, like ours. Think there is hope to fundamentally change America?
