Someone here “may” feel that (to paraphrase) because when they... “joined 10 years ago, FR didn’t bill itself as “pro-God.” It was just about conservative thought. It has changed, and not for the better. In fact, (they) probably will spend less time on here in the future, as (they) don’t feel (themself) to be in good company as much as (they) used to. (They may feel that) A lot of articulate, intelligent thinkers have either left or communicate mostly through Freepmail now because the “Geezus wuvs me” crowd has taken over.”

What would be the January 12 reference?
Funny, when I joined in 2002 I think respect or reverence for God was mentioned as part of a mission statement. And if peoples’ religious discussions are something I don’t want to read; why - I skip over them! I don’t feel the slightest bit harassed by such discussions or professions of belief. Of course, I’m not an atheist. But I’ve seen plenty of atheists on FR who do not get bent out of shape by believers in God or discussions about faith.
And if people don’t like FR, I don’t think anything is chaining them here.
Gotta go to bed - I hate this “turning the clock forward/backward” stuff....
