Centrist Women Tell of Disenchantment With G.O.P.
New York Times ^ | March 10, 2012 | SUSAN SAULNY

...somewhere between the baby name game and the gifts, what had been light conversation took a sharp turn toward the personal and political — specifically, the battle over access to birth control and other women’s health issues that have sprung to life on the Republican campaign trail in recent weeks.

“We all agreed that this seemed like a throwback to 40 years ago,” said Ms. Russell, 57, a retired teacher from Iowa City who describes herself as an evangelical Christian and “old school” Republican of the moderate mold.

Until the baby shower, just two weeks ago, she had favored Mitt Romney for president.

Not anymore. She said she might vote for President Obama now. “I didn’t realize I had a strong viewpoint on this until these conversations,” Ms. Russell said. As for the Republican presidential candidates, she added: “If they’re going to decide on women’s reproductive issues, I’m not going to vote for any of them. Women’s reproduction is our own business.”

.....Rick Santorum, a former senator from Pennsylvania who is one of Mr. Romney’s rivals for the nomination, created a tempest late last month by speaking out against prenatal testing. Earlier comments about women in combat and the role of “radical feminism” in encouraging work outside the home also left some women ill at ease.

“Everybody is so busy telling us how we should act in the bedroom, they’re letting the country fall through the cracks,” said Fran Kelley, a retired public school worker in Seattle who voted for Senator John McCain over Mr. Obama in the 2008 election. Of the Republican candidates this year, she added, “They’re nothing but hatemongers trying to control everyone, saying, ‘Live as I live.’...

Nope, it's Obama's business, but you are so emotionaly stuck on stupid, you do not realize it. Put on that hijab and stay demoralized on life and regarding your sisters who are nuns and are going to be forced by the muslims like Obama.

Interesting to see her calling it life in America “her business”, like a little tyrant who has no concern for women’s freedom (and that of her more pious sisters who she is jealous of), she is easily swayed into an Obama dictat and follows the dictator who will put the demoralization hijab she already dons on her all the easier.

...ever notice how ‘moderates’ ALWAYS seem to line up with the Democrats on abortion and gay issues? What makes them ‘moderates’, anyway?

4 more years of OBama because as always the centrists do not like a GOP groupie but the full owner of the plan, ie. Obama. Because if the GOP thinks it can become groupies of Obama’s plans and be elected as groupies, we shall see a return of the moderate to vote for the guy who OWNs the plan, and not for the groupies, ie. OBama himself.

McCAin and the others can lay the blame on conservatives, it does not change a thing. A groupie is a groupie and nothing more nothing less.

What SPECIFICALLY is a “centrist” or a “moderate”, or “independent” for that matter. What are its core values?

That they don’t ever want to tick anybody off, they just want to be “nice” and gutless.

####

And some, even here on FR, say we are supposed to bend our conservative values to “win” these people over to our side?

You’ve nailed it.

The strain here on FR, are Liberaltarians.

The first thing they want to toss is social conservatism.

Always.

Toss social conservatism, you ultimately toss fiscal conservatism as well. Social liberalism by necessity increases the kinds of behavior which produce consequences that result in calls for bigger government and less economic liberty.

Churchill and Eisenhower would be called “radical right wingers” by the NYT and their ilk today. Back during the days they held office, the ideas of legalized abortions and marriage being defined as anything other than between one man and one woman were unthinkable.

“When you attempt to bring facts or reality into a discussion, they attack or become offended”.

Because facts, reality and logic are “racist hate speech” from the perspective of the liberal mindset.

"...Women’s reproduction is our own business.”

If this is the case, why am I being asked to pay for it?

More garbage from the NYT trying to make the issue about “Women” rather than the “Economy”. She’s following the DNC Talking Points real well.

Bingo. You nailed it. The DNC and the DGA. Check out THIS incredibly bizarre web page: http://t.co/6eN2QUmd

"Socialism, like the ancient ideas from which it springs, confuses the distinction between government and society. As a result of this, every time we object to a thing being done by government, the socialists conclude that we object to its being done at all. ... We disapprove of state education. Then the socialists say that we are opposed to any education. We object to a state religion. Then the socialists say that we want no religion at all. We object to a state-enforced equality. Then they say that we are against equality. And so on, and so on. It is as if the socialists were to accuse us of not wanting people to eat because we do not want the state to raise the grain." -- Frédéric Bastiat, The Law, 1849

Now I know why liberals do not like “Racists”, and it is because liberals fall for the same trap welfarite retard language as black people do in Chicago for the community organizer.

They are all trash, but white liberals do not want to be reminded that they fall for the same thing, and thus their pseudo-solidarity for “black” people. Not because they feel politicaly for them, but because they do not want to be associated with them, though they fall for the same thing.

This “free condom” spoof spells it all very much all so clearly.

What is worse is that MITTROMNEYBAMA care falls for and use the same canard without even being able to figure, and they just jump on the hook, line and sinker.

Romney will be blamed for it and all the economic woes. YEs indeed, “read my lips” moment trap for the GOP-E again.

ANd, again, I reiterate:
