The Romney Problem
Shameless Vanity ^ | 3/11/2012 | Dick Bachert

Posted on 03/11/2012 11:35:23 AM PDT by Dick Bachert

An Internet friend responded to my recent email re. Romney's past tilts to portside by observing that we have no choice but to support him if he is the nominee. While I want Obozo to go away ASAP, as of this writing, it's not looking all that good.

My somewhat expanded reply follows.

The Obama smear machine will tear Romney to shreds. Here's the narrative:

MR's past and current positions are similar/identical to mine. You gonna vote for a rich, white pubbie over the first black president? A rich, white pubbie who was born with a mouth full of silver spoons who makes snap bets for 10K on TV and tells unemployed workers that his wife drives "...several Cadillacs..."? You gonna vote to send me away after I hiked your welfare benes? (Almost 50% of Americans are receiving those benes.) And the Dem's will make sure ALL those supporters will get to the polls and, along with millions of illegals and the departed, vote early and often. (It's the Chicago Way.)

And because the choice is between Obozo and Obozo lite, a lot of the less committed and uninformed otherwise conservative voters may sit it out.

We need a clear CHOICE. We don't need the establishment GOP favorite shoved down our throats by the same Beltway jerks who, according to Palin, REFUSED to allow her to expose Obozo's marxist past in '08. That situation is but more evidence of the truth of some gallows humor popular with fellow cynics that the Dems want socialism NOW while the pubbies are content to wait a few days. The bad news from '08 is that the GOP establishment has become impatient.

With the MSM covering for Obozo again and the bulk of the electorate either ignorant of or supporting the dismantling of this nation, we've got trouble right here in River City.

I'm not sure this fight can be won -- or even worth the effort. It now seems that fight will almost certainly move to a new and more "kinetic" level. This WILL get ugly.

All that said, I and many of those I know will NOT allow these treasonous criminals to steal the birthright so many others died to defend.

I guess we'll see you at the polls. If that fails, it's on to the barricades (figurative or literal) to carry on the fight the other side started.

"To every man upon this earth Death cometh soon or late. And how can man die better Than facing fearful odds, For the ashes of his fathers, And the temples of his Gods,"

Yep. It’s going to get “kinetic”. If Obama wins, the people will have to rise up to save the nation from communism. If Obama loses, his zombie hordes will rise up to “take what’s theirs”.

Romney has won (when he has won) by spending millions to trash his opponents. That is not a winning strategy to defeat Obama (not that he will even try to trash Obama).

He needs to present a unique vision rather than just trashing others...and he has no unique vision.

Romney is incapable of defeating Obama!

This vanity does not belong in News........

But since you are a n00b,.......Oh, wait! I don't care if you are right! LOL!

Romney and his mega millions, and his attacks and personal destruction of Newt, is why this is now, officially a disaster. We had a candidate with an honest plan and a vision, but it has ended on the stupidity of the ignorant voters.

How ever you look at it, Obozo will most likely win reelection.

Gas/Diesel prices will mysteriously drop below $3.00/gal. by the election. The media cheer-leading about the number of jobs created will continue every month till the election.

Mitt Obomney will most likely win the nomination and go on to be crushed like Dole and McLame.

For me, I'll be voting for the Constitutional Party candidate here in NH. NH will likely go for Mittens so I'm not concerned about “throwing away my vote” like some people here will accuse me of doing.

Hopefully Mittens will be the last establishment candidate we have to suffer.

When I hear Romney speak I hear only Political Oleo. This in lieu of real Butter. On the other side words from Obama that sound like lies, and sure enough, they are lies.

Maybe the day will come where we no longer comply and cooperate with regulations.

The Supreme Court will fall into the wrong hands and we will eventually conclude “this is not a battle of flesh and blood, but principalities and powers in high places”.

I don’t believe we are quite there, as we are still struggling pretty much on our own power against what is seen, rather than against the unseen forces.

We really must begin to fight this on our knees and give God the hours of prayer for our needs and in the grave danger we face, that we are spending on the key board. (Absolutely talking to self here, btw.) :)

Obozo or Willard or Santo whom are all OWNED by the Unions.. same difference, different mouth breathing..

Newt is the real NO ONLY option for change from a federal givernment complete take over..

I am surprised that even some freepers are so easily fooled.. and some are..
All three promise great swelling words BUT are OWNED by the same Masters..

I ask you how can you even BE elected in Chicago, Massachusetts or Pennsylvania..
WITHOUT Union support?

The Union Machine in those places is even WORSE than in Wisconsin.. as corrupt as that place is..
Those three people are DRONES.. in the Union Hive..

I am not amused by support for Santo or Willard.. especially HERE..
Many freepers must be dullards..

I am not too smart either ... HELL I’m a republican..

I would hope that wish comes true. However, not because 2012 is the last legitimate (or otherwise) presidential election we'll ever see.

Romney is losing.

He cannot and will not continue with the race, if it appears this will head to a ‘brokered convention’.

Either someone like Palin will take the nomination in that case and will immediately bring both Gingrich and Santorum and probably even Paul on board publicly, or perhaps the GOP establishment (which is already starting to realize they’re backing a turkey) will substitute someone like Jeb. Who’s just as bad, but certainly wouldn’t do Romney any good.

I think of all the current candidates, it is Romney who is in the most precarious position of all. I am starting to believe he’ll drop out of this race.

Keep up the pressure.

Romney’s going to drop out.

“And because the choice is between Obozo and Obozo lite, a lot of the less committed and uninformed otherwise conservative voters may sit it out.”

I for one don’t appreciate being labeled “less committed and uninformed” because I refuse to support Romney in a general election. He is NOT a choice....you yourself call him “Obozo lite.” I think NOT supporting him sends a message to the country club elite that my vote is ONLY obtained by supporting MY VALUES. Romney does not on many levels. IF the GOP is stupid enough to select him as nominee, I will do something I have never done since the first POTUS election of 1976.....I will stay home or leave that portion of the ballot blank. Starting in 1976 until 2008 I always voted for the GOP candidate, even if they were less than desirable. However, I won’t do this for Romney.

I think, for me, it takes more courage to not vote than to vote for an unsuitable candidate simply to vote against the Obamanation of Desolation.

Romney (if he is able to gain the nomination) MUST have we conservatives behind him, constantly "lighting the REAL way" as we know conservatism to be.

We can and must keep the heat on him, pushing and pulling him in our direction.

The absolutely last thing we must permit is for Obama to win a second term, not only for what he has already done to our Republic but plans (and threatens) to do in our future and the future of our posterity.

We committed conservatives have learned how to fight even if a bit late to the war on liberalism.

What we must do, as never before, is not give up or give in to those who sit back and watch as we destroy ourselves from within - all the while liberalism continuing to march us into a Socialist Utopia, quicker than Europe and in a far more dangerous world.

I have to hand it to liberals, they settle for "baby steps" toward their ultimate goals even if it took decades to achieve, while we conservatives, when we lose, pout and steam, blame other conservatives who let us down, etc. all the while liberals continue marching on toward their ultimate goals. They have been far-sighted while we have not.

Some of us here support Newt, Rick (either one), Michelle, Herman and/or Sarah. We've permitted our loyalties to a specific candidate to hide our ultimate plan (as liberals always do) and keep on keeping on.

If we do, as many of us have done in the past, when our favorite candidate or issue lost, to gather up our marbles and leave the game.

It must be "one for all and all for one (conservatism)" and resist being poor losers, for we have our very democratic way of life at stake here.

In 2012, it is not about which candidate but our fight against tyranny vs. liberty and a democratic way of life.

If we give in to the "my guy or the highway" Obama will win, America will lose.

I beseech all of you dear folk to fight as you've never fought before in your lives, against liberalism, socialism, Marxism and tyranny. Help whomever wins, drag that candidate, if necessary, across the finish line in November.

We can also kick out as many RINOs out of office and work to push as much a conservative agenda as we can all the while but getting Obama out of office, then turning our sights on our "leaders in-name-only" to rid them from our ranks.
