The irony is that most protesters in this cause are urbanized young people who are the farthest removed from and the least able to cope in a world without electricity.

No Chevy Volt?

No iPod/iPhone?

No Xbox?

No Sirius or Pandora?

No Twitter, Facebook or text messages?

The world as they know it would end!
****************************************

Along that line of thought,

Anyone remember the old SF story about the Earth going through a space cloud of electricity-eating microbes?

No TV or radio, so people began to stroll through their neighborhoods in the evenings to talk with folks.

Spark plugs no longer worked, so diesels were the only engines. Horse drawn carriages & plows were back.

Kerosine lamps or similar were to only home nighttime illumination, so people went to bed earlier.

IOW, everything went back to the 1890’s pace of life.
