Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has long cited a November 2004 meeting with a Harvard stem cell researcher as the moment that changed his long-held stance of supporting abortion rights to his current "pro-life" position opposing legal abortion.

But several actions Romney took mere months after that meeting call into question how deep-seated his conversion truly was.

Within two months of his epiphany on this issue, Romney appointed to a judgeship a Democrat who was an avowed supporter of abortion rights. In May 2005, Romney also declared his support for a House bill lifting President Bush's ban on federal funding of embryonic stem cell research -- a bill he now said he opposes.

We know this about Mitt Romney's current stated pro-life views - the minute he thinks he can gain political advantage by changing them, he won't hesitate to change them.

And that applies to most of his other political views as well, which is what makes him so unsuitable for the GOP nomination.

Actually there is no hell, but the lowest level of the celestial kingdom.
But really if you think about it because mormonism teaches spirit children, if a baby is aborted no biggie, these spirit children just go for a it again and again if necessary. They just keep working at it until they are born.

i beg to differ...according to mormonism

aborted babies die w/o the doctrine of mormonism or the salvation of good works

and therefore are consigned to the Terrestrial Kingdom, which is described as a sort of Purgatory

although i have heard apologists claim their spirits get "recycled" thru Spirit Prison, mormon scripture does not support this...if it did, then mormon doctrine would state a baby's spirit does not enter the child until it's born, which is another can of worms...if they want to hold the stand that a baby is a human being at conception, then the baby suffers physical death at abortion, and eternal Purgatory is all they can hope for under mormon belief...the "recycled baby" folk tale is a patch to cover their their ignorance

celestial= mormon heaven...terrestrial=like earth but slum-like, for godly people who did good works but rejected the mormon message...telestial=basically a hell-like purgatory for those who have neither good works or mormon doctrine...outer darkness=hell

I don’t doubt you, I was just going by what one of my lds uncles has said.
(Thinking about it, none of my lds family has said life begins at conception, I do remember reading that lds teaches life begins at birth or first breath. That in an of itself is another thread of course, but if from conception it is not life then it is death, so what is growing, I mean death doesn’t grow.)
In essence according to him, these aborted babies get another chance to be born.
After many discussions on this issue, he finally said, “you are correct mormonism is not pro-life, it is at its best anti-abortion”.
“We do what we can to discourage the abortion but if the decision is prayed about and you feel god says its ok, then go ahead.”

You could also say this is similar to listening to a certain Reverend for over 20 years, and thus forming a belief that he is Wright.
