He likes to preach, first issue listed on his website is “War on Pornography”, and he is a family man, which does not necessarily make a good President.

Rick takes his substance from Newt's positions. He desperately tried to take credit for spearheading a lot of initiatives that were part of Newt's Contract with America.

I find Rick hard to listen to, very preachy. I couldn't tell what his position on Iran was other than that they shouldn't get a nuclear weapon. Duh.

His fiscal record in the Senate is anything but conservative, unfortunately. He has changed his position on abortion. He has always been Catholic, but was pro choice
before he entered politics.

Rick was asked about special interests and didn't bring up the millions he made after losing his Senate seat as a Lobbyist. Lying by ommision. He does not want prenatal testing covered by insurance, the same prenatal testing his federal health insurance covered which saved his wife's life. I just find that indefenseable.

Bottom line, I don't find Rick the paragon that he believes himself to be. I'm much more comfortable with a Sinner Saved by Grace who has accomplished as much as Newt has and who now offers Major Solutions to our problems

I have a lot of respect for Newt as other military families I know do. My son, who is one of our fallen heroes, would have proudly served under Newt Gingrich as Commander in Chief.
