First lady: Anti-obesity effort not about government telling ‘people what to do’

Well not yet but she is taking baby steps to get to more of a nanny state. Obesity is a major problem but I don't want the gov't to get involved because everyone loses rights, the fit and the fat both.

I work out 6-7 days per week 1-2 hours every day and eat a super clean diet. No junk food etc but I do wish the private sector would get more involved through rewarding fat people to change their way just as the company I work for is doing. They pay for gym memberships and have other programs to help people lose weight and get fit, stop smoking etc and it has helped them tremendously to lower claims over the last 3 years. We have actually had a rate decrease on the amount of premium we have to pay out of pocket.

These weight charts are as old as the hills - made up when people were smoking like fiends to keep their weight down, popping barbis, etc., dying from cancer, but they looked nice and thin in the coffin,so it was worth it. Baloney. I am healthier than a lot of skinny bones working out every day, blowing their knees and their hips...but hey, you’re thin, so who cares! Everyone get off my back for being a chub. Do you think it should be a condition of employment to be thin? That’s where this is all going, and it stinks!!!!
