My mother used the broom and a belt buckle when we made her snap. She had a special punishment for me when I wouldn't stop throwing rocks at 5yrs old. She made me think she turned the burners on the top of the stove on and she would force me to put my hands up there so she could hit them with the belt. I always thought the burners were on because I was too small to see over the top of the stove. I tease her about it today and I know she regrets doing it.
