Anyone other than the R is a vote for Obama...

I may be a little dense, but I have never in my 70 year understood how a blank vote is really a vote.

So...you voted for McCain and got Obama. So it makes perfect sense to NOT vote for whoever runs against Obama this time of its of Newt because somehow “that’ll show ‘Em!”

You are disappointed. We have all been..but uniting behind ANYONE who will ABOLISH ObamaCare is what is needed. Not voting IS voting for Obama.

Lexinom, honestly and sadly I believe the eventual nominee with be Romney. He will have to battle for every delegate and I hope that gives Newt some bartering power at the convention.
I dont care for Santorum because of several of his endorsements and I dont just mean Spector or Sotomyer or Romney but others. I dont care for his voting record which I checked out; I dont care for his piety; or his joining with Lieberman and Hillary for a 90 MILLION dollar study to see what effects watching tv has on children for example..I have many other reasons not to trust the man.
Most of all..he never accepts responsibilty for his poor decisions..he always blames someone or something else.

Let me ask you something - and I'm dead serious: Should infidelity be a prerequisite for elected office?

that is a really sick question, but pretty much par for the course for a sanctimonium supporter.

Should being a sinner, going to God for forgiveness, seeking reconciliation, and making no excuses for your past behavior mean you have to pay for your sins for the rest of your life, because a bunch of holier-than-thou fundamentalists can't let you live your new live in Christ Jesus? Should it prohibit you from running for office? with all the stones you throw, you must really be sinless and perfect...

Name the state where a vote for Santorum kept Newt from taking 1st in a state, or where it actually gave Romney more delegates.

So far as I can tell, you won’t be able to do so. I can point out many cases where votes for Newt did so.

If Romney or Santorum get the nom, conservatives and republicans will be so split and unenthused, it won’t be funny, and that includes FR, but I’m over caring about what others do, I’m not falling in line this time. Sorry.

I really didn’t want to enter this thread because I’m a rather polarizing figure at times, but your comments about Santorum’s wife’s action from around 1983 were quite unfortunate.

She was a young girl who screwed up. I don’t personally know that as a young twenty something she fully understood the full gamet of the actions of the man she was involved with. Perhaps she did.

Twenty-nine years later she is home schooling six or more kids and has them on the right track in life. I think God would be very pleased with that.

Can we please lay off the comments that destroy us more than her character at this point?

She isn’t even running.

Take care.

” Should infidelity be a prerequisite for elected office?”

Hey, what are you implying here? What’s up with ragging on Newt’s wierd exwives?

Are you an apostate? Athiest maybe? I mean, you can’t be Christian can you?

And ignore repentance, and conversion, and grant no forgiveness yourself?

Should I hold that because Karen S. lived and slept with an abortionist for six years against her? I don’t, but you are leading into nasty soil here, if I read your challenge correctly.

Suggest you may want to check and see just how tall your boot tops really are before you go much further.

I’m really not at all happy that the accidental candidate is viable.
Believe it or not, the vast majority of voting Americans see Santorum as a religious zealot with nothing else to offer.

What a fine mess. One viewed as a religious zealot and the other is a Mormon which maybe a third could view as a cult?

I hope we have a brokered convention that nominates Newt Gingrich: solutions, visionary and leader. We should be voting for our next ADULT Commander-in-Chief!

Like TBF said, the James Dobson crowd, votes and they are largely Santorum voters (AL & MS) but are they enough of a voter block to win a general election? I'm thinking, no.

You know the funny thing? Very early in this, when Newt was ahead in the polls, Santorum was accused of being in the race to split the vote so Romney would get it. He was accused of having cut a deal with Romney for the VP slot. Now, when the split vote has cost Santorum 3-4 states, no peep. At that time, Santorum’s supporters were also accused of supporting Santorum for the above reasons. I saw it posted that Romney was our second choice over Newt. For myself and most Santorum supporters here, that’s not true. Now I’ve seen some Newt supporters say that they would vote for Romney over Santorum! In this thread, I’ve seen 6 posters claim they would not vote for Santorum if he gets the nomination, essentially helping Obama. Again, no peep. I’m seeing a double standard, and I’m seeing a, “If I don’t win, I’ll pick up my ball and go home” attitude.

Although Santorum is my candidate and has been since he had 1% in Iowa, I know I would certainly vote for Newt over Romney if it came to it. I’d also vote for Newt in a heartbeat over Obama.

My same thoughts. I guess their exit polls are telling them Santorum country, or perhaps the precincts have called in their totals but not delivered the ballots?

That’s where you focus on congressional races. Try again in 2016 for a good presidential candidate.

You know, I’ve talked to many people tonight who are upset, and who said God didn’t answer our prayers. If it was all over tonight for Newt, I would agree with them, we didn’t get the miracle we were praying for... but there is so much time for God to enter in to the affairs of men, for minds and hearts to change, for events themselves to change this race. It is hardly over. And we have a fighter in Newt. We have a fighter.

Aha...so you are a “young lady”...You are correct about your emotions as I don’t know you except through a conservative “message board.” You and I are probably very much aligned with where this country is and where we fear (no, actually where) it’s heading. McCain was a disaster and we would have slowly continued to move toward socialism under a McCain presidency. Obama changed all that...we are rocketing toward socialisim...we already may be past the point of no return...but I can guarnatee you this...if Obama has four more years then we are at a point of no return. That is why it is critical that we put him out of office...if we can stem the bleeding then we might have a chance. But if we don’t vote because we don’t like our nominee then we have truly lost...and it will be because “conservatives” did not vote because the perfect candidate wasn’t available.

Essentially, “I pledge to you my life, my fortune, my sacred honor,” at the very end of his speech.

It’s not what I would see as plagiarism, he’s just a copycat.

I live in a solidly red state (KS), so it makes no difference if I abstain from voting for Santorum if he gets the nom. I simply don’t believe in him as a person, I do not like his record, and many of his views conflict with mine. So I cannot bring myself to support him.

I didn't even bring up Newt's ex-wives...

Not sure what you mean by a challenge... The obvious point - at least I thought it was obvious - is that it's admirable (and sadly, rare) if a man is faithful to one wife. That's all. Nothing more.

You're upset and emotionally drained. I've been there, too.

We have a real enemy to combat here.

Get some rest.
