Chu backpedals on call for higher gas prices (Too late)
Fox News ^ | 3/13/2012 | Ed Henry

What a difference a week makes for President Obama, as rising gas prices put more and more pressure on his administration.

Last Tuesday at a news conference, the president insisted to Fox News that it was fallacy to think his team was in favor of higher gas prices to wean Americans off fossil fuels.

"You think the president of the United States going into reelection wants gas prices to go up higher?" the president asked. "Is that -- is there anybody here who thinks that makes a lot of sense?"

Fast forward to this week, when the president's Energy Secretary Steven Chu acknowledged Tuesday at a Senate hearing that he indeed told the Wall Street Journal in September 2008 that getting U.S. prices up to higher, European-level gas prices would help move Americans to use more renewables.

But with rising gas prices sinking the president's approval rating in some new national polls, Chu says he has had a change of heart.

"Are you saying that you no longer share the view that we need to figure out how to boost gasoline prices in America?" Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, asked Chu.

Backpedaling thanks to Newt..

Making a laughingstock out of him and getting under their skin with the issue.

This is what happens when a member of the Obama administration says something that Americans find offensive:

Day 2: "I take back what I said."

Day 3: "I didn't mean what I said."

Day 4: "You misinterpreted what I said."

Day 5: "What are you talking about? I never said that!"

Wherever he is now, George Orwell is laughing.

If Obama wins Chu will have yet another “change of heart”.

I wish they’d ask the question: “how many applications and/or leases are currently being processed by the DoE?”

When the answer is thousands, the follow up question should be:

How many of them have been in process for more than six months? A year? Three years? “

That’s where you nail the DoE lie about “doing everything they can” to the wall. Force them to show how the processes they put in place are causing years of delay right after they finish saying they are doing everything they can to lower prices

The “buzz” on this has been a big, giant thud. Not even Democrats are buying this. I hope he gets more face time on TV. He’s doing great, really.

Chu back-pedaling in D.C. Liu being investigated in NYC for illegal fund raising, No (D) mentioned next to their names. Being of Asian descent, I’m not feeling the love right now. They’re giving us all a bad name. LOL

Precisely. Anything this liberty-raping, fascist administration says or promises carries an expiration date of 7-NOV-2012.

NOBAMA 2012!

The DOE produces NO energy. It blocks real energy development while wasting taxpayer funds on untested sources like algae.

Algae works great as an aquarium filter. You would have to grow tons of it to make fuel for cars though.

We’re already using algae and other “plant like substances” for fuel, and it’s a very usable, dense fuel that we already have refining and distribution systems for.

coal, oil, natural gas, etc...

At least until after the election.
