Oaxaca city was a pretty neat adventure for a couple of Midwest gringos when we visited there about 15 years ago. We flew in on a sparkling silver Air Liberdad DC-3 from Huatulco.

Oaxaca's airport features a thatched roof terminal building.
The city resembles Spain in the 1600s because it can trace Spanish influence from those years. It was peaceful when we were there, just after Christmas. We found out later that we had just missed the Oaxaca Radish Festival.

A very good friend of mine was killed in Oaxaca back in hte day, 1975. Evidently, there was a disagreement over payment of something.
