I do not agree. Zimmerman had a reputation for going after blacks. He referred to this young man by a racial epithet. He told the 911 operator “they” always get away. He then pursued him for no reason. After the operator told him not to.
I consider all “hate crime” prosecutions to be racist when applied to race and sexualist when applied to sex preferences.
And by definition, they are not equal protection before the law.
