Philly owes $877,000 for Boy Scouts' eviction case

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The city must pay nearly $900,000 after a failed effort to evict the Boy Scouts of America because of the group's ban on gays, a federal judge ruled Wednesday.

The post-trial ruling is just the latest twist in a decade-long legal dispute over the Boy Scout oath, which requires members to be "morally straight."

The two sides have sought a compromise that would let the local Boy Scouts chapter keep its rent-free, city-owned headquarters without violating the national Scout policy.

However, a tentative deal struck since the city lost a court case last year has fallen apart. U.S. District Judge Ronald Buckwalter therefore said the city must pay $877,000 for the Scouts' legal fees.

Some gay guy on council if I am not mistaken was behind this...

The scouts raised the money and built the building and then gave it to the city ages ago, and used it for meetings.. some activist little BLEEP decided to hell with them.

Should be paying the scouts way more than this!

Dumb petty pathetic little people

Wouldn’t surprise me if the council member wanted it for a sex dungeon.

And the money could’ve done the scouts some good but isn’t it going to their lawyer fees?

Philly taxpayers on the hook for $900,000, plus legal expenses, for pimping the gay agenda.

And NO ONE will show up at the council meeting to complain about this complete wasting of taxpayer dollars by radical Democrats. Wouldn’t want to be known as a BIGOT after all, would we?

And you wonder what’s wrong in America, today?

I’m tellin ya, folks of moral conviction need to be migrating to likeminded states so a separation can occur, let the left rot in their dens of iniquity and falling apart cities.

Where is that graphic from?

The sword is labeled bigotry and discrimination.

It seems the artist/author is trying to say that the boy scouts (and Christians) are using bigotry and discrimination as a weapon.

This piece of political propaganda is not meant to be flattering to the scouts or Christians.

Its saying that “Boy Scouts and Christians are discriminatory bigots”.
