Santorum Suggests Obama Preferable to "Etch-A-Sketch" Romney.

Rick Santorum's latest attempt to use a Mitt Romney aide's "Etch-A-Sketch" remark against the Republican front-runner instead gave his rival a chance to fire back on Thursday, after Santorum seemed to say he'd rather see President Obama reelected than send Romney to the White House.

Speaking at an event in Texas, Santorum again made the case that Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom's comments Wednesday on CNN about a "reset" of the campaign if Romney clinched the nomination showed the former Massachusetts governor's efforts to appeal to conservatives were insincere.

"You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who's just going to be a little different than the person in there," Santorum told a crowd in San Antonio, according to NBC News. "If you're going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch-A-Sketch candidate of the future."

Yeah. I really see Romney running away with elections. He couldn’t even break 50% i IL after spending 50 to 1 in Chicago alone. As for Newt being the better man. Am I missing something here? All that Adelson cash and all he could manufacture is a win in his home state and SC? That is way better.

Let’s see how your guys Romney and Newt do in LA.

Agree, Santos really is a terrible public speaker, I know what he meant, but he did not clearly clarify his position. I agree that the GOP must have a candidate that motivates the voters to go with the GOP choice instead of Obama..Romney will not do that.

Mitt isn't my first choice either. But to stay home in Nov. and let the Communist in Chief have 4 more years to destroy this country is ludicrous.

There is a decent chance that we may take the Senate as well, at which point the Repubs in Congress will be running the show. I suspect there will be even more Tea Party members in congress whom will keep Mitt on the straight and narrow IF he trys yo leave the Plantation.

Santorum added: “If they’re going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk of what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate for the future.”

Is that clear enough.

Newt is running for VP, now, I think. Remember Reagan-Bush, to unite the party.

Romney is going to need a REAL PIT VIPER to fight back against the blizzard of hate that is going to be unleashed this fall.

Few people, including most FREEPERS, I’m afraid, haven’t been paying attention to the size, scope, reach, and FUNDING of the huge propaganda mill, with a complicit mainstream media, that the Obama campaign has been building.

I have, and frankly, it scares the hell out of me.

The Tom Hanks “Triumph Of The Will” Obama campaign movie is only the beginning.

Whatever else he is or isn’t, I don’t think Romney is out to destroy the country the way Obama is, and there’s some hope the right can push him into line.

Especially if we add to the conservative caucus in Congress. But this is the crux--the Santorum clicque is blind to the real threat posed by Obama. I don't understand either how they can overlook the atrocities of the last three years, and the threat of five more years to come, but in their weird zeal they seem to act like obama is not even really there, and Romney, the conventional pol, is the world ending threat. Like I say--weird.

Santorum is going for the conservative vote; Gingrich and Romney are going for the Republican vote.

Not more of the GOP convention rule 40. That has already been disproved.

"I wonder how many in Rick’s brigade are familiar with your sharp rebuke of the rank Santorum hit-piece posted here a couple of days ago."

None of 'em.

Wouldn't matter anyway. They're true believers. Zealots for the most part.

And I understand that. I have been a zealot for various candidates over the decades.

I have been emotionally crushed several times.

I don't hold it against them. One day we will ALL be allies against the Fascists.

Looks like you mixed up Gingrich and Santorum. Besides, Santorum thinks Obama is a better pick than Romney. Santorum is going for the delusional Vote.

I may get to the point of voting for Romney in the General after a bottle of scotch and a handful of ludes before I go into the polling booth, but to even think of supporting that lying sack of s#!t in the middle of the primaries is absurd. Romney is a fake, fraud, phoney.

"Let’s see how your guys Romney and Newt do in LA."

I have no doubt that Newt is a primary loser.

I also have no doubt that is because the LEADERS of the SoCons have endorsed Santorum, the idiot.

The Lemmings will do as they are told. That is because they are incapable of thinking.

I am not stupid. I know Gingrich will not win. I also know Santorum will not win.

I also know that Obama must be defeated at all costs.
