“How is Obama worse than Romney? I keep asking this over and over again to people like you, but all I seem to get is the same party-line refrain over and over again. Is it really so difficult to break with the establishment talking heads?”
1. Romney is nominally a capitalist and will defend that system. Obama is certainly a communist at heart, and will do all he can (as he IS doing) to destroy the capitalist system in this country.
2. Romney will abide by at least _some_ respect for the Constitution, rather than Obama, who seems to have none (witness his recent defiance of Congress in making recess appointments while the Senate is still in-session). And well certainly get more acceptable Supreme Court (and federal court) appointments from Romney.
3. Romney is white, and will represent white interests vis-a-vis Obama, who dislikes whites (read quotes from his book) and will do nothing for them (playing that race card when’er he can). And before you go callin me racis, remember that the core, traditional values of old America came from white European stock. In that vein, white interests very often correlate with traditional American values. Whatever Romney’s “values” may be (and I don’t pretend to like him), one thing I -know- deep in my core is that the values Obama has are quite divergent from mine.
You asked what makes Obama “worse” than Romney. For better or worse, there are three examples.
My opinion only.
I realize others’ may differ...
I have trouble believing points 1 and 2.
1) A capitalist would never sign socialized medicine and cap & trade into law, nor would a capitalist support bailouts. A capitalist would DEFINITELY never advocate adopting the individual mandate on a national level as he did in ‘09.
If Romney sincerely came out his actions, I’d be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt a la Newt because I REALLY want to see Obongo tossed out. But instead of running away from his past, he’s embraced it!
Romney doesn’t get to be a capitalist just because he’s been in business. Jason Altmire, my congresscritter, has business experience too, but he’s no more of a capitalist than any of the other Blue Dog frauds.
2) I don’t believe anybody who supports everything in Point 1 could have any respect for the Constitution.
3) I concede that Romney probably doesn’t subscribe to black liberation theology, so he might be marginally better in that respect. Unlike 1 and 2, he’s at least on the record for flip-flopping on affirmative action.
Unfortunately, #3 alone won’t even come close to saving America. It’s 1 and 2 that are far more important, and there Romney is an utter failure.
