NavVet, you must have never heard one on Newt’s speeches. He can really stir a crowd. As a matter a fact when he isn’t speaking the campaign is rather dull and boring. He’s a national treasure and I personally will only accept him for president. I don’t care who wins, I will only listen to him. I’m hoping he will start a shadow govt. It’s our only hope for national survival.

I’ve heard many of Newt’s speeches. When he isn’t proposing some bloated, expensive and unnecesscary government program, he can be quite good.

After Newt won SC, I was for Santorum dropping out, because I knew what would happen if the Conservative vote continued to be split. Newt has stayed in long past the point where he had any chance of winning. He is staying in the race now only out of ego and / or spite.

However, that said, Newt is a pretty flawed conservative. I would vote for him a thousand times before I would vote for Romney once (which I would never do). But when I hear people talking about Newt like he is the second coming of Reagan when he sat on the couch with Pelosi and pitched his global warming cap and trade nonsense and when he co-endorsed an ultra liberal in NY-23 with ACORN etc. etc. It just boggles the mind. Newt may be the most articulate and the most effective debater, but when it comes to holding Conservative principles, he is nowhere near the ideal candidate.

Hoping Newt Gingrich starts a shadow government and saying that you will only listen to him is a little creepy.
