'The Children Are Off-Limits': White House In Fury Over Rick Santorum For Attacking Malia Obama's Trip To Mexico

By CHRISTINE SHOW 22 March 2012

Barack Obama responded Wednesday with shock to Rick Santorum's recent criticisms that the President was an irresponsible parent for sending his daughter to Mexico.

President Obama's deputy campaign manager, Stephanie Cutter, ripped the Republican presidential candidate for raising an issue about Malia Obama's recent school trip.

She blasted Mr Santorum for targeting the child on the campaign trail.

'Children off-limits': Barack Obama's campaign team blasted Rick Santorum for criticising the President's decision to let his daughter to travel to Mexico

Ms Cutter told MSNBC: 'I think that children, for candidate purposes, have always been off-limits in presidential campaigns, and really any campaign.

'I'm surprised that Rick Santorum wouldn't agree with that.' The comments came after Mr Santorum talked with Glenn Beck on his conservative radio show on Tuesday about his opinion on President Obama's decision to allow Malia, 13, to visit Mexico after the U.S. State Department issued a travel warning there.

He told Mr Beck: 'What I would say is that the President's actions should reflect what his administration is saying.

'If the administration is saying that it's not safe to have people down here, then just because you can send 25 Secret Service agents doesn't mean you should do it.'

'Set an example': Mr Santorum called President Obama irresponsible for sending daughter Malia, 13, to Mexico despite State Department travel warning

Mr Santorum went on to say: 'You should set an example. I think that's what presidents do. They set an example. And when the government is saying this is not safe, then you don't set the example by sending your kids down there.'

They also claimed that Trig was Sarah’s daughter’s child and that Sarah should have aborted her baby.

The Obama campaign never ONCE denounced such rants from the Left.

He was too busy spinning a yarn that he was a lifelong Christian who had ties to the Selma march.

Holy cr@p. Santorum did not criticize one thing Malia has done. She is a child, and her parents allowed her to go to a country they asked us not to visit.

We need to stop letting the mainstream liberals define the argument.

How dare Obama go after Santorum? Santorum was criticizing the Obamas, not Malia. Malia is sweet and innocent here. No matter where her school chums were going for break, they should have told her she could not attend while they are the first family. There are many fun places to spend spring break in America.

Since when is saying someone shouldn't have sent their child into a dangerous country "attacking" that child. Sounds to me like he attacked Bozo, not Malia(sp?), which is probably what the a**hat in chief is really mad about. He can't stand to be criticized.

He uses his children in photo ops and other ways constantly but says they are off limits when someone else does it. Can't have it both ways Bozo, and where was the jerk when Palin's kids were being trashed all over the MSM.

Quickly changing the subject because he doesn’t want ANY discussion of his sending her into a danger zone.

Could he be more lacking in judgement?

Does Malia have to pay for her birth control or is the cost covered 100%?

Covered 100% so don’t worry she won’t be “punished with a baby”

Malia Shabazz (Malcolm X’s daughter) was arrested last year for identity theft.
http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1524859/pg1

Did Malia Obama’s parents borrow an identity for their daughter? Malcolm X is a hero to the friends of Jeremiah Wright and Farakhan. Malia looks like Malcolm X. Many look at Obama and the many photos of Malcolm are astounded by the resemblance. Search for Obama and Malcolm X as your search terms, are you’ll find some very compelling information. Following this line of reasoning, if Obama is Malcolm’s son, then the identity theft Malia would be Malia Obama’s aunt.

Wow. A "two-fer" for Obama:

He gets to pander to the Hispanic voters by sending his daughter to Mexico on vacation AND he gets to bash Rick Santorum.

Apparently, "keeping the children out of it" only works one way.

Santorum is simply re-iterating what obama has said. Mexico is dangerous and why would anyone allow their children to go down there, even with Secret Service? Sheesh, the drug lords of Mexico can reach anyone. They kill their own police and politicians almost daily. They are the western equivalence of Islamists. They kidnap, rape, kill, cut off heads, and cause all other types of mayhem.

There is NO safe place in Mexico. It should be on a list to compete for the biggest butthole on the planet. I've been surprised that Cancun tourists are not being kidnapped on a daily basis. Maybe the Cancun resorts are beyond their reach or not worth their effort. Someone explain it to me, because my SO wants us to go to Cancun.

I don't want a thing to do with Mexico. The country-side sucks (ugly ass desert - at least our deserts have some beauty); the government sucks (corrupt); the people suck (yes, lazy and have attitude); the resorts suck; the service sucks; the attitudes suck for gringos; the transportation is beyond sucks; the airport sucks into Cabo region; the architecture sucks; the construction sucks (think you're own experience with Home Depot Mexicans); the stink of their cities suck. Shall I go on?

How about: MEXICO SUCKS! And just below our border are thousands awaiting their chance to take American jobs and suck on our teat. Yup, I depise Mexico. Don't like it...too f**ing bad. And yes, I was a Minuteman back when and proud of it. I worked with Jim Chilcrist in his home across the highway.

Now, after reading this rant, know I have no problem with any latinos, whether from Costa Rico or other Central American or South American countries. I have a problem with Mexicans.

They, like the so-called palestinians are a worthless lazy people who had every opportunity to excel, but refuse to so. I was born and grew up in California and lived my life watching the California dream die due mostly to illegal immigration from Mexico. We have entire sections of LA that only has signs in Spanish.

We tried to warn you out in the mid-west and east and parts of the South. But no, you wanted cheap labor and be so accomodating. Well, now you got the California experience and death of the Dream - enjoy it.

“Well said- nice backdrop research!”

You get the backdrop research, and I get:

One would think there could be a more explanatory canned statement. IOW IMHO the peons deserve to know why, especially after the previous comment indicating something “well said”, and the importance of maintaining propriety or the “mind of the Mods”.

In some cases there is sufficient time and comment that it is fairly easy to glean the mind of the mods, but not this time.

So how about it mods? Perhaps just a little more effort, like, “Comment 18 removed for copyright reasons” or whatever the issue was, and if this subject of mod discretion has been studied with the microscope at great length, I haven’t yet had the privilege.

First time I ever noticed that the word moderator doesn’t transfer directly to the To: block in a comment screen, or at least there is a change after preview.
