I read in one or two of the articles this guy being a “young boy”...or heard it on the radio. I remember this because it infiriated me they were depicting him so, as if Zimmerman was picking on some kid.
When actually the guy was 6’2 and bigger than Zimmerman

In 2008, Zimmerman attended a four-month law-enforcement program given by the sheriff’s office, Kim Cannaday, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office, told the Sentinel. .....In his application for the course, Zimmerman wrote: .....“I hold law enforcement officers in the highest regard and I hope to one day become one.”....He enrolled in Seminole State College with the goal of becoming a cop in 2009 and was working toward an associate degree....... Zimmerman last week was dropped by the school which said it acted because of safety issues for Zimmerman and other students.
Zimmermans father,Robert is a Retired Magistrate Judge....who sent a letter to the Sentinel stating...”...The portrayal of George Zimmerman in the media, as well as the series of events that led to the tragic shooting, are false and extremely misleading,” ...... “Unfortunately, some individuals and organizations have used this tragedy to further their own causes and agendas.”
“George is a Spanish-speaking minority with many black family members and friends,” the elder Zimmerman said. “He would be the last to discriminate for any reason whatsoever.”
‘Stand your ground ‘...says you can shoot (or otherwise use deadly force with a bat, a knife, a fist) if you feel threatened with death or great bodily harm. You have no obligation to back off or retreat to safety, even if you can.

Unlike those English-speaking majorities without “many” black family members and friends, who are much more likely to “discriminate”.
