True but I was implying it as a slap to the evil one/comments - that ‘be thankful, you could be dead.’
Prayers to the donor’s family.
What do you know about transplants? Sorry about your Mom but they have to take a persons overall health in consideration. Other than his heart he was in good health, with no signs of any other organ failure. Every case is different, once again sorry about your mom.
The prayers of his family have been answered apparently. Godspeed Mr. Vice President!
Wishing you a speedy recovery and many good years ahead Mr. Vice President.
Prayers also for his family!
Thanks for the powerful ping, Ernest. The last worthwhile VP is so close to my age and yet he's had 5 heart attacks to my one. Long live Dick Cheney!!!
Some of the predictable comments being left at the CBS story are just disgusting. I usually don’t read the comments but I had a gander at about 6 of them and I think 4 or 5 of the 6 were typical liberal insanity. I wish VP Cheney the best in his recovery.
Prayers for V.P. Cheyney, one of the few people in the world I truly respect, and the donor family.
Halliburton is hiring, one of the first companies I looked at in my search for future relocation.
This shows the different ways they respond to BS. I’m more like Bush, when someone is BSing me, I laugh and it shows, even if I try to hide it. Cheney, the serious type, just gives the eye.
Please open the way for a complete recovery for Dick Cheney ,so he will live a long & healthy life along with his Family.Thank You Lord ,Amen.
exact words "pain killer".
And much tougher!! He should be President right now if not for the health issues but hell even Cheney at 10% is better than what we have now.
Go for it! Tell them Cheney is a mentor of yours. :)
He will use it more fully than most. Go VP Cheney. Our prayers are with you.
The Cheneys donated $7.2M to the cardiac center of GWU’s hospital. Don’t think he has to worry too much about insurance or co-pays.
Great news about a damn great American! Speedy recovery Dick!
Wow. I did not know that. That is great. You know I was just being funny. I know he is not hurting for money. I am glad for that. One thing for sure....he earned it.
Thank you for your informative post; truly, it was very educational!
I am so happy to hear how well it has worked out for your husband and your family.
GWU’s hospital is where Cheney was taken (repeatedly) during his tenure as VP; it’s also where Reagan was taken after he was shot. Subsequently, both families donated generously to the hospital. The cardiac center is known as the Richard and Lynne Cheney center and the main hospital building is named for RWR. Few know how generous these people have been. And that’s the way charity SHOULD work.
I can only envision a proud, strong America had Dick Cheney been healthy enough to take on the rigors of a presidential run in 2008. There's no doubt would have won against Obama.
With President Cheney at the helm, American Exceptionalism would be flourishing right now. And because of his extensive background in the energy industry, gas prices would probably be less than $2.00 a gallon.
Great picture, I had forgotten all about it.
Thank you, workerbee, for my very favorite photo of Dick Cheney. He knew exactly what we were gettin—s fake. Ever since we heard many months ago that he was considering a heart transplant my husband and I have prayed for him every evening. It was with great joy that I heard this announcement on the news tonight! There must be great joy in the Cheney family tonight for this incredible Blessing. Prayers that his new heart will give him many more years of life and that our Lord will keep him close.
Prayers too for the family of the very kind person who gave such an unselfish gift of life.
Dick Cheney knew what was coming with Obama, and he did not like it at all.
Dick Cheney knew what was coming with Obama, and he did not like it at all.
I join in earnest prayer for Dick Cheney!
Folks, I’ve got to tell you that I had heart surgery at Inova Fairfax hospital in January and I was from out of town and came to Inova because of its excellent reputation and the outstanding surgeons who operate there, especially the surgeons of CVTSA who worked on me.
Two months later, it is almost like it didn’t even happen. I am so much better and because the heart surgery was through a 1.5 inch hole through my right side under my arm, recovery was quick.
I cannot say enough good things about my INOVA experience. Too bad it will all go down the drain with Obamacare.
Prayers for the entire Cheney Family.
God bless Dick Cheney!!!!!!!
Prayers up for Dick Cheney and his family.
Love Dick Cheney!!!!!!!
You think Cheney had to wait on a list?!
OMG I LOVE this, thank you!!!!!
COULD THAT HAVE BEEN YOUR MOTHER PROBLEM??
My husband had two massive MI at age 51....then a quad by pass, then stents three times and then a defibrillator and now will need a new battery replacement for the defb. we know first hand what heart disease is..may the Cheney family find Peace and Comfort during his healing...
Dick Cheney has served this Nation well and I totally respect his knowledge and THANK him for all he does to help others.
When Pelosi, Reid, and Schumer heard that Cheney had gotten a heart transplant, they said:
Pelosi: I wish I had a heart
Reid: I wish I had a brain
Schumer: I wish I had a life
The Wizard, Obama, said, “You don’t need a heart, a brain, or a life. I’ll take care of all of those for you. You don’t need to think, care, know, etc. It’s all in my new list of executive powers which I just signed.”
“You just do what I want and you’ll live happily ever after (until one of my death panels has to deal with you, my pretty)”.
Meanwhile, at the Oz Airport, Michele was checking out her new broom, while Eric Holder was training his goose-stepping, flying monkeys for future operations.
The new “Wizards of Oz”, coming to a political theater near you in November, 2012.
I woul imagine that Cheney has been on the list since November, 2000.
A Vice-President with known heart trouble would be automatically enrolled.
Glad you liked it...Cheney is a real patriot. He serves his country well.
You are most welcome. This is serious, but we have to keep our heads on our shoulders and remember the power of humor or satire.
That Photoshop of mine was neither humor nor satire.
I have often wished that other people have thought bubbles I can see. “Wait...” you say, “...would you like other people reading YOUR thought bubble?”
LOL, unfortunately, everyone I know can read me like a damned book just by my face! They already CAN read a thought bubble on me!
I just want to level the playing field...:)
Wow, really? Well, that’s great—wishing you a speedy recovery and a long life, Dick!
Not at all...great pic!
May God Bless you, VP Cheney and your Family during this recovery period. Much respect and the best of good wishes.
Already started on many blogs.
God bless him...he deserves one.
man...I wish I had a new one
my wife might not though...man...I’d be some wicked with a 20 year old heart let me tell ya
he’s been dealing with a genetically poor heart since age 37...no fault of his...he was an athlete as a young man
can you imagine him doing all he has all these years with a crippled cardiac system...well i can tell you it sucks...a scarred ventricle ain’t much fun hoss....carrying all that dead blue meat around with every pump....outta breath, chest pains and tightness and weakness and his was far worse than my maladies (genetic too)
do you have an issue with him getting a dead person’s heart...they didn’t need it anymore
he’s carried a lot of water for you..and us...fairly solid on 85% of our issues...especially a a guy with balls about the real world
if I get in trouble again I’ll be sure and ping ya for permission fore my family goes wasting blue cross dollars and all
Complete Clarity should be the pictures’ title
By the time he was Secretary of Defense, he’d had three heart attacks. God love him for serving his country as well as he did. He didn’t have to...it wasn’t a requirement.
Thank God that he didn’t have to deal with IPAB. He would have been a goner.
“if I get in trouble again Ill be sure and ping ya for permission fore my family goes wasting blue cross dollars and all”
You don’t need Mr. K’s permission. You have mine...;o)
