Wasn’t the owner of the home in this gated subdivision where Trayvon Martin was staying Trayvon’s dad? Or was he staying as a guest of some other individual homeowner?

Trayvon's father is not an owner at Twin Lakes Retreat where the incident occurred, he has another residence elsewhere in Sanford. A girlfriend with whom Trayvon's father has a child does live at the Twin Lakes Retreat and it is unclear how frequently the Trayvon's father visits her.

The father admits he was not at the girlfriend's house the night of the shooting. Considering the proximity of the girlfriend's town-home to where his son was killed and the fact it took three days to identify his son's body, it does not seem likely to me that Trayvon's father was living anywhere in the vicinity.

They probably have nothing to prove this a hate crime. Just because the kid was black does not mean that Zimmermann shot the kid only because he was black.
